- I recently headed out into the Indian city of Udaipur to search for Royal Enfield motorcycles to rent with my friend Harald Baldr. Whilst searching the streets for a hire shop we met all kinds of interesting people and tried some local foods. Join us on our search through the streets of Udaipur.

Only if he added somewhere that India is a poor country today only because the British turned up and up until then, it was the richest and the largest economy in the world(until 1850s). Or the fact that British is rich today because they had the world's biggest economy in their control and the amount of tax money drained out of India. Not only that, India was the largest market for Britain for 200 years while systematically destroying Indian industrial exports to europe by trade barriers and taxation. By destroying India's 5000 year old traditional industries like textiles and dyes and spices, Britain made Indians beggars. People often see the world how they are taught by education system and media and British media often potray India's poverty which has nothing to do with British Colonialism. British education system is highly biased and sees British colonialism as a force for good for mankind

You touched a very interesting subject here. How is a man with no arms and legs truly happier than one who has been given everything in life? I met that very happy man back in early 90's in Bombay. All he had was a piece of wooden board with four wheels. He moved around using only his chin. I lived in Bombay for a year. I was only nine years old, but I learned a lot. Community, sunshine and a good friend here or there can be the simple recipe to a good life.
Sometimes, having nothing is better than everything. We have everything in England, but all is built on debt. The foundation can crumble at any second. Constant fear for what we have built and how easily it can be taken away from us. Nothing is truly under our control. At any second they could simply raise the interest rates & most of us will be in a mess. The money that we have saved, even that parachute is no longer physical or reliable. Remember what happened in Greece? 50 Euros withdrawal limit!
Hey, I'm not even arguing who has it worse and who is ungrateful. I wish no one that position where you have to search through bins for your next meal. All I'm saying is I've lived on both sides, I know where sadness and depression has chosen to call home. Just watching you walk around in sunshine, laughing and having a bit of banter with the locals, walking freely, this makes me happy. Thank you.

Well people use loaned money to create extra value and that gives western people edge over others.
It's a bit more complicated than the way you put it but most of these people is not smart with money.
You can't be afraid to lose everything if you have nothing to begin with. And that's the difference between India and the West. There's no question who has it better.

And they give birth at home over here they dont visit doctor for pregnancy only if condition got worse they go visit doctor
Indian Government is giving food to those poor ladies who are pregnant and also there is free medical care for pregnant woman, but people who earns they dont take interest in govt aid, but people like these poor woman, they dont think tabout taking those aids just because of illiteracy,
in india govt has provided free education upto the age of 14 years in govt schools and also there are some seats in convent and public private schools for the poors.

That's one thing that blew me away when I worked in India in the early 2000's. I traveled to most of the big cities. People were so happy and friendly, in a very harsh environment. Mumbai was off the charts with the noise and colorful smells and fast pace. Also the people there are impeccably dressed and groomed too, regardless of income, weather or how much mud there was on the streets. And I was there during rainy season. UZ that is the most naive comment, it's a cliche. Poorer the people the more money they are demanded everywhere they go.. at government hospitals, municipal offices, police every other person will try get as much as they can. Being poor is about money.. sure they can get by without much fuss, that is because of community. If There is one thing that keeps people happy it is social connections.
But I guess I get your point. India is not organised the way west is, everything is chaos, normalised chaos so no taxes, no regulations, no insurance, no social security.. so people seem to be free but they have to fend for themselves. Money matters.. but Indians can't handle much of it because they don't know how to be organised so it doesn't help for them with lots of it because it multiplies problems.
