Star Citizen is an open development, crowd funded project from Cloud Imperium. Consisting of 2 games, Squadron 42 a single player, story driven campaign putting you in the middle of the Vanduul attacks as an up and coming UEE Navy pilot, and Star Citizen, a highly detailed
first person MMO set within a persistent universe where there are no limits. This includes, space, and ground aspects, massive spaceships with full interiors and interactions, a full dynamic economy which reacts to the players actions allowing for anything you can imagine.
It is all being built on the StarEngine (a modified version of Amazon's Lumberyard Engine).
Please bare in mind that this is heavily WIP and in an alpha state in which much of the foundational tech to make it a reality is still being developed. Both games do not have set release dates yet but you can play the alpha build for the PU MMO which makes consistent progress
with quarterly patch releases throughout the year.
I am an independent content creator and a fan of the game, I am not paid by Cloud Imperium however I do accept ships from them to giveaway to my community but this will by no means influence my opinion or what I say and believe about the project.

4:50 - Something I'd really like to see added to the game is a merchant mechanic where you can, say, rent a shop in a city or space station to sell items, or have a special crate with a trade terminal on it you can put items in you wish to sell, which you can then put in the cargo bay of your ship.

    • @rixxy9204
      @rixxy9204 Před 2 měsíci

Problem with this mechanic is that everybody spams it like crazy in most mmo's.
Maybe it's not a problem in SC, maps are so huge! There's been many times when I was like "I wish I had x gun", or healing or whatever.

Star Wars: Galaxies had a merchant system where you could create vending machines and salespersons. They could be placed in player housing (creating a store). Advertising was done on the forums and marketplace showing the shop location and what was being sold. Vending machines and salespersons could be loaded with everything from basic resources, arms, armor, houses, and spaceships. Prices were set at the machine or person for each item. I ran a shop called "Dirt Cheap Dirt" where I sold mining supplies and resources. I see setting up the Banu Merchantman and Kraken Privateer in a similar manner with the player-made outposts acting the same way.

    • @Kehvan
      @Kehvan Před 2 měsíci

@@Pappy_1775 Yes, I imagine something similar, though I never played Galaxies.
In the end, people collect a lot of loot, and our only options are to sell it to a npc trader or inefficiently and insecurely sell them to other players.
There is a desire to create markets between players but will the devs create a game loop for it?
I really hope so, because it will give players a reason to collect loot, mine resources, build bases, operate farms, etc. In addition, it will also give players a reason to interact with other players outside of a PvPvE scenario.

Lately my favorite thing to do is logistics. I have an M2 that has a bunch of spaced out 2 SEU boxes that kind of work like footlockers. Each one contains a full kit of gear, so you walk up to it in your skivvies and you have everything you need to equip for whatever mission you feel like running. Figuring out how to put that stuff together and sourcing all of the components is a really zen experience.

My favorite thing to do in SC is medical beacons. People get in trouble in quite varied circumstances. The usual place for a beacon of course is a bunker and those can be quite fun trying to not get in trouble yourself (as you may not really have a permission to go there in the first place).
One of the stranger ones was saving someone from outside hangar doors at Port Tressler. Don't know why he was there and managed to knock himself out but needed some planning to make it so we could also get out of there.

I LOVE moving boxes and other things. It's weird, but the notion of actually moving things around, to slowly fill your ship with loot, to place guns in the rack, to swap containers to the grid, to decorate your ship with junk you found along your journey, to hoard things in a station storage... Ah, so good! Somehow, SC made a 1-2 clock mechanic from other games into an time sink which I enjoy a lot.

Interested also by ROC mining, caves exploration, salvage and always on the lookout for rescue missions to help other players. Thanks for your videos!

Hey Mac, what I enjoy doing in PU 3.21 and 22 right now is (after doing Salvages with friends, and some cargo hauling in C2) taking the Carrack every session, and treating it as my home.
I've got the Vulture or Hornet Ghost for aUEC already, and still got 30M+ aUEC left, so I am just enjoying the Stanton system, visiting villages, space stations, sometimes logging off at the station, sometimes in a bed in Carrack. I do always repair and refuel her, never claim. There is the Pisces exploration on board, in matching red color, Mirai Fury next to her, URSA and ROC in a garage, and all the armor sets, weapons, ammo, and utilities I might need. This way I can take any mission including the sos beacons from NPCs, investigations, mercenaries on my ways, when I see some ROC rocks, I land and mine them, when the ROC is nearly full, I head to a nearest mining outpost and as I sell the ROC stones, I also buy some commodities into Carrack's cargo....
It probably should not be this easy to keep afloat financially in a finished game, especially flying such a big ship mostly alone (friends sometimes jump in, sometimes I answer some request on local chat), but it is an awesome chill after the work day. :)
Huge fan of your off-grid and zero2hero series 🤘

Sitting down to eat that hotdog, go clothes shopping at Microtech, jump in my most modest ship and do a delivery mission. Step out of my ship at an outpost and just take a minute to look at the sky and the horizon. Listen to the mining drills pumping into the ground. There's something about the intense combat encounters and the satisfaction of tracking down and dealing with targets that really gets my adrenaline pumping. The detailed environments, hidden locations, and dynamic weather systems make each exploration feel like a unique adventure. While I have a variety of ships, I enjoy being immersed in the system with a small ship like a Cutter Rambler or Aurora MR. Typically, that means doing deliveries or just flying around, finding a good spot and camping. That's actually the reason why I clicked this video, the off-the-grid living. The 'verse is so beautiful!

I bought a package January 2023 and have barely even logged on to play. I watched videos from time to time to see how the game is progressing and then I found your channel and you started "living off the grid" and thought, ...this is how I would love to play the game. Its chill and relaxing and with a chance of danger as well. Don't get me wrong, the intense pvp and such sounds great but the "chill" way of playing seems up my alley. Love the series.

I love this series you do for living off grid. It's inspired me to do the very same thing. Star Citizen is what we make it and doing a nomad type zero to hero is such a blast. It's breathed more life into the alpha for me.

I love getting together with a couple of friends and trying things I've never done before. Learning new game loops or just exploring, looking for some loot in places we've never been , if we got a ship for it, perhaps do a bounty, bunker etc on the way, mix things up and have fun. I started in 3.16 and all I did was grind to get a new ship. That burned me out very fast. Now, I still only got a starter as I am still a student , but getting that new ship is secondary, fun and trying new things ( even tho some things are still not fleshed out to be fun for me) is the primary objective as it should be.

My "loop" as it were... has been assisting others getting started. Teaching them how to become efficient at what they do and work smarter, not harder.
I focus on legal aspects of the game as well as occasionally doing extreme zero to hero to keep myself sharp and up to date on the most current meta, mostly for the loops of commodities trading and mining.
Every community has its share of asshats but Star Citizen has far and above the best community in gaming.
Not a day goes by where I am not stunned by the generosity of this community.
Commodities trading is my main loop as it is incredibly relaxing and lucrative. It allows me to assist others in building their own empires and as a side result having many friends to assist when I have large endeavors that require group effort.
Always enjoy your Zero to Hero organic videos. Best of luck with them.

What I like doing in SC is savaging. Taking my Vulture into space and doing an honest days work. The pay back is really great also. When I'm looking to relax, flying around exploring Microtec is really enjoyable. Its such a beautiful planet. I cant wait for them to flesh out more of it.

The most fun I’m having currently is helping my youngest play on my account using the controller and run around. Sometimes it’s in cities, in the wilderness , or spacewalking. We had talked about doing a “camping trip“ but I didn’t know that you could bed log on a planet. That’s cool.
if you come across any pink or purple armor or helmets i’d come shop at your traveling boutique sometime.

3.22.1 is the first patch where i decided to try and live aboard my ship. I love making supply runs and restocking my corsair 'in town' and then staying out running all kinds of missions and securing all kinds of loot to keep and to sell - and making a return trip back to civilization every so often, once the ship is too full to carry more or i need more supplies. Personal Hangars and the new star map are going to make the experience even better.
