What a gorgeous video - thank you!
I did a road trip with my parents in September 2005 from Las Vegas to Glacier Ntl. Park and we loved it.
We loved it even though we weren't able to do all the things we wanted to due to snow fall - and nevertheless we fell for the beauty of that park.
And we saw our first bear - way in the distance at first, then it vanished and suddenly resurfaced way too close to us.
Boy - THAT was a wide eyed drive back to the motel 😆

I think the ticketed entry on the Going to the Sun Road may have eased the crowds there some, but moved them to other places like Two Medicine and North Fork area. Let's be honest, the primary goal of the reservation system was to cut down the traffic congestion outside the park that was spilling onto and interfering with US 2 traffic. For in-park parking, especially at Logan Pass, it's only made the situation worse. It's now filling up earlier than ever before, and there's less turnover as well since people who get in early enough will wait until the latest possible moment to leave and not lose their space. Also, thanks for keeping the Izaak Walton secret ;)

Well- im doing a series on the parks of rio grande rift and im writing and editing the Guadalupe mts/ carlsbad caverns segment now. they’re very different than Glacier. there’s a trail to the highest peak in texas- 3000 fr of vertical to 8700. the cave trail goes down 750 ft. White sands and other parks are nearby. the last 3 vid i uploaded show WS and 2 smaller ones- short hikes only though.
Otherwise id say go to utah. zion has great trails!! and Bryce is nearby- as is Vagas airport. Moab with Arches and Canyonlands is also great!! not too many long trails though

Just wanted to thank you for your great videos that we watched through the pandemic winter dreaming of getting out. We got reservations at Apgar and Many Glacier and got there the last week of June, just days before GTSR opened. We hiked the East side from the closed gate at Jackson Glacier overlook all the way to Logan Pass; it was an easy 5 miles with the road to ourselves. I also got a rental bike and biked from Avalanche to just below Logan Pass, no cars, it was wonderful.
    czcams.com/video/Dwr0gWijbTQ/video.html
I had never heard of Many Glacier before your videos, but we took your advice and stayed at Swiftcurrent and loved it. Later while watching family pictures from a 1970 camping trip, there was a picture of Many Glacier hotel, so we must have camped there in 1970 !
    Thanks Again !

I plan on taking my first trip to Glacier this early June. I was thinking of doing the Grinnell Glacier and Iceberg Lake trails, but will be hiking alone. Are touring groups usually welcoming to solo travelers tagging along if I can't get a reservation?

I just want to start by saying thank you for sharing your knowledge of the park. I've enjoyed many of your videos, and you've more than earned my subscription. Before I ask a couple trip planning questions, I'm wondering, do you ever sell any of your park photos? I'm looking for a landscape for my office (60"x24"ish). I'm planning a trip for mid September 2023, and am struggling with some key items. Do you have any trail recommendations for me to consider for a 3 night, 4 day backpacking trip? There are 4 of us, all fit, and coming from the east (open to your two medicine area preference). Also, is mid Sept really different when it comes to the crowds? Trying not to visit during peak season, but still the chance for decent weather. TIA

Thanks. and yes i sell images- over 1500 so far. those are interesting dimensions- hard to find a place that can print that size. I prefer printing on metal these days- since Cibachrome is no longer available. I have a panoramic shot of Upper grinnell lake with many bergs, the ptarmigan tunnel pano shot is nice too. have other pane shots including emerald lk in canada.
re hike. if u haven’t already watch the 2 med and logan pass / st mary sections of my 50+ hikes in glacier. i think u can go from patimkin to syeh pass to the highline via swift current- it would be tough but very cool.

Lots of folks asking this question this year for some reason. If you’re talking overnight backcountry I guess I get it, but back country permits are hard to come by and i assume they help with that. for day hikes you dont need a guide. the trails are well marked and mostly crowded through the summer so you’re rarely if even alone. Glacier guides is the only one i’m aware of. but again- why do u need one? please subscribe

Piegan Pass is pronounced phonetically as Pee-gan. Siyeh is pronounced "sigh-eeee" I enjoyed your video but cringed every time you mispronounced. I did not check the other pronunciations for mistakes. :). And don't forget for the last 2 years you cannot enter the park without an advanced reservation now. You'll get turned away at the gates if visitors and locals just show up to camp, hike, or even drive the pass.
