I just finished reading The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck. It’s a book dated in the 1930s and paints a picture of the what the great depression was like. It tells the story of a family of farmers who, like other people, go to California looking for jobs because supposedly there should be many jobs. But in truth there are no jobs and the people are worked to work in farms for barely enough food to survive. And one by one the members of the family star dropping of because they starve.
John Steinbeck won the Nobel price for his work. His book is a classic and in America it is a book that students are made to read.

John Steinbeck is probably the most accessible and enjoyable American authors. Along with "East of Eden", "Grapes of Wrath" is an amazing read! Thanks for this review!
