I really liked the way you shifted between angry and kind starting around the 11 minute mark, those shifts from the deep angry tone to the sweet bubbly tone was so so well done and I kept playing that over and over because it was really that good! Please keep up the good work. Finding new martial is so hard to find. You can only hear the same story rehashed but maybe slightly different only so many times. Even if some story's aren't as good as the last thinking outside the box is all that matters. Indiana Jone's fame was not made in a day but it sure was destroyed like one.
I had this idea which I wanna share

A scary kitsune is actually sweet heart.
The kitsune (1) was cursed by another kitsune (2) dew how beautiful she(1) was . Dew that curse humans feared her and seal her in a area. Anyone can enter and leave except that kitsune. Only someone who can truly love her can break that seal but dew to the curse everyone fear her.
This idea was mix of my original idea and mix of gemmony idea. Hope this idea becomes an interest to u.

Edit: Well this is an interesting scenario. Us who had wanted to be sent into another world due to how we were treated on the surface. And a guardian of the oceans and seas, cripplingly lonely enough to steal us once they were able to. Isolated from others they heard us for many nights, and when she heard of our troubles, they chose to act. Ripping us from our world she dragged us into hers. She bears no truly ill intent, but she believes that she should defend us because we are part merfolk, and thus are aligned with the sea. Therefore we must belong to the sea no? But we do not, we lived with our daily troubles because we must, to do so shows endurance and our strength of will. Where she may have seen uncountable suffering, I believe to see the duty of continuing one's own existence, and finding the strength to move on from each struggle. We may belong to the sea, but we were not raised in it, so we should not be dragged into it. But to abandon her would be rude, not to mention deadly. She needs someone to be with her, so we should be with her. Allow her to heal the small cuts inflicted by loneliness, but also to allow her to fully understand us, and why we wish to continue living on the surface. This is an interesting question. If something is made for the sea, but has adapted to the land should it be dragged down into the sea despite its adaptations? I think not. If only because to drag it away from the place where it has adapted makes all previous experiences null and void.
Either way, she seems like a great fren, just with the wrong way of showing us her world. May the wounds inflicted by her loneliness fade as we heal them with our presence.
