- We’re upgrading a basic diamond interchange with something much more unique and unusual in today’s episode of the Cape Lomond, Cities Skylines 2 series.
Will this fix traffic or make it worse? Well, I’ll show you how to build this and discuss why I’ve built it in this particular location then give my thoughts on whether you should introduce it to your city build.

man I struggle so much making circle roads-they always end up wobbly and stupid looking-you make it look so easy
Snap to existing geometry + snap to right angles. Just follow the guideline at 90 deg and you'll get 2 perfect semi circles to join to make a full ⭕ every time 👍
@@piccana_ assuming you use continuous tool tho
@@upchessbyabzolute yep, that's the one
Very pretty, and functional. Couple of tips for those two mods: Transform uses axes local to the object you're moving/rotating if you click the asterisk toggle (easier for moving than rotating to be fair); and the Recolour has a colour picker (the dropper icon) that helps when trying to match an in-game colour.
Nice that Elgendo's coloured surfaces appear to take the texture from below. Might need to download those myself I think...
Cheers bud. ☺️ Nice tip with the transform tool. Didn't know that was there, super useful! I did try the colour picker at the time but it doesn't pick up the net lane. Yep, the surfaces are worth picking up. Even if your not going to use the normal colours, having the transparent whites and black to amend existing surfaces is pretty useful. ☺️👍
@@piccana_ Something for tonight then. Hadn't tried the picker on the netlanes so I'll mention it to Yen, see if he's planning to add it (if he can)
Ddi + counterflow dogbone + roundabout 😍😍😍
100%. Cheers bud ☺️👍
I love the red brick landscaping; it reminds me of the Mediterranean
Definitey! Its a cool little touch, would make a good plaza
when I see a double roundabout like that I envision a bunch of roundabouts connected and just sitting back and watching the traffic move lol
That sounds like an episode of real civil engineer 😂

I'm really glad to see how well your channel is going. Great work.
Believe it or not, I was just thinking about you the other day. I've had a few shoutouts recently, but you were the 1st one to do that. I think I had 60 subs at the time. I'll not forget it. Thanks again bud. Hope you're doing well. 🫡
@@piccana_ all good here. Just keep doing what you are doing. Excellent content.
the deer seem to be happy with the intersection lol
They're absolutely delighted with it 😂
Loving the interchange looks great 👍. Just got to remember this magic ✨. 😊
Cheers bud ☺️👍
Very functional, love the episode and interchange, keep it up ❤
Cheers Delroy! I'll try ☺️👍
Another impressive work... what can i say... it's just amazing!
Cheers buddy! ☺️👍
Great interchange Picc!
Cheers Pilot! ☺️👍
listen mate, great city and way to take advantage of your acescent!
Thank so much bud! Appreciate that 😊👍
Love that interchange design! Nice!
Cheers Michael! ☺️👍
Nice job mate! Love the bus lane colour detailing, really adds to the build
Cheers mart. Yeah it's a nice little touch. Shoutout to elGendo for coming up with the goods again ☺️👍
Legendary work bro!! 👊🏾✌🏾🤍
Cheers Mario! Appreciate that man 😊👍
A great build again!! The only nitpick I could come up with is that as a driver I would love to have a bit of weaving room entering the highway on the busy side, especially comming from that hart turn on the quiet side 😅
Edit: I rewatched the vid and noticed the original interchanges doesn't have weaving strips either. Crazy 🤯
Cheers David. Yeah, that's a tight one alright. Better hold on to your hat entering that turn 🤣
Awasome ! Really Nice
Thank you Flox. Appreciate that bud! 😊👍
very cool design you made diversion diamond with rondabouts ,thats very special ,never see that ,great man 👍👍👍,how found this idea'
Cheers JB! Definitely a unique one this! ☺️👍
Дуже красиво 🤩
👍
Thank you mate!! ☺️👍
This looks like a planned new capital city in central america or smth
Haha, yeah it could be 😊👍
will you ever make this map available for all of us?
Yes! Most likely fairly soon too. I want to get the medium density neighbourhood completed and redesign the messy elements on the industrial side before I'm happy to share. It'll be making it available free for everyone with instructions on mods and settings etc.
@@piccana_ thanks its nice seeing your maps through game it makes it more optional wise when it comes to things I'd like to see.
Thanks
Gonna sound dumb but is this city american inspired?
Not a dumb question at all. Yeah, I'm just grabbing elements from different US cities, ideally from the states along the gulf coast, but we've got elements from other cities and some outside the US too. ☺️👍
@@piccana_ Thats cool, interesting for me to experience and watch as I often build in a european style, love the videos though
this is the worst but most realistic way to play cities skylines 2
What do you mean? 😃
@@piccana_ i meant since it's mostly car-dependent (as most north american cities are) that makes it terrible in the context of the game but realistic
I dunno, my transit hub is pretty busy for a 20k pop city 👍
Is this something I'm too european to understand? Diverging Diamond Interchanges just... Looks like an absolute traffic hazard
They're actually pretty straightforward, just 2x2 phase traffic lights, people just need to stay in their lane. I think on this interchange the roundabout might cause more issues in fairness 😂 Fun fact, the 1st DDI was built in France 😊👍
