Stevie Nicks with her distinctive voice collaborated on some great songs with some super musicians like on this with Don Henley of the Eagles. They both also did some great solo stuff-Colin Ward
I was in Jr high when this song came out and I was instantly in love with Stevie Nicks. Already knew her from Fleetwood Mac but this blew me away. One of my all time favorite duets. My teen crush, Shannon, is still one of my best friends and we still think of each other when we hear this song....just in a different way. We're able to look back at those kids and laugh. Her husband isn't the slightest bit jealous of our old friendship. helps that I'm gay. LOL
One of my favorite concerts was seeing Stevie in my city in 1983 when she was doing a solo tour...her father introduced her onto the stage...Stevie came out in full spin lol and opened with Gold Dust Woman.
Just so you know, this is a special version. It has an extra line sung by Don Henley, "first time I saw you, I knew with you to light my nights, somehow I would get by". This version is different from both the single and original album version found on her "Bella Donna" album. This version was released on her 1998 three disc box set "Enchanted". "Enchanted" is a collection of her solo work, a kind of "best of" collection, that also includes b-sides, demo versions, and songs not found on any of her albums (like soundtrack songs or song that are duets that are on the albums of the other singer).
This is such a beautifully tender love song, about how women can be tough, and men vulnerable, not always vice versa. My friend even had it as her first wedding dance, and it was so perfect for her and her husband! 👌💒
I love and met them both Don w eagle's and Stevie twice had to wait for her then here she comes smiles and such a happy mood she wink at me the 1st time she was really down to earth 🌎
Another great 80s duet that should be on your list is "With You I'm Born Again" by Billy Preston & Syreeta. It has a similar "softness" message to "Leather And Lace".
Side note "Sara" was the name Nicks gave to her unborn child before she had an abortion. In 1977, she dated Don Henley, and later confirmed that she became pregnant with his child and terminated the pregnancy. Henley spoke about it in a 1991 interview with GQ, where he stated: "I believe to the best of my knowledge she became pregnant by me. And she named the kid Sara, and she had an abortion and then wrote the song of the same name to the spirit of the aborted baby. I was building my house at the time, and there's a line in the song that says 'And when you build your house, call me.'" Peace out.
If you get a chance (not for this topic, but sometime), how about Kiss From A Rose by Seal. It's from the Batman Forever soundtrack. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this one.
Stevie, one of the lead singers of a famous group, and also in her own right as a solo artist, had an affair and a brief relationship with Don Henley, who is also one of the lead singers of a famous group, and also as a solo artist in his own right.
So so love such a beautiful lady and great choice in review. Would love grabbing your wrist to slow dance you. Keep your reviews going. You’re doing Awesome.
Don Henley has another excellent duet with Patty Smythe of Scandal. The song is SOMETIMES LOVE JUST AIN'T ENOUGH. Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb ate together on WHAT KIND OF FOOL from the album Guilty. Enjoy
One more from the vaults- Stevie Nicks and John Stewart-"Gold". Anyone? A couple years before this one...pretty much defines late 70's weird mix of pop+rock+ ? on the radio at that time.
One of The Eagles & one of Fleetwood Mac members! They were a couple back in that time I believe! Sometime in the mid to late 1970's, their respective groups, Fleetwood Mac & The Eagles competed for Grammys! Fleetwood Mac for Rumours & The Eagles with Hotel California! They both won, but I forgot in what categories! 😭Ciao!
Nicks wrote this song for then married couple Waylon Jennings and Emmy Lou Harris, but they divorced before Nicks can give it to them. So she asked friend Don Henley to sing it with her. It became a big hit.
Hello ! My name is Marcelo. I am from Brazil. Very Good your channel. React this is songs: Century - Love Why or Jon Secada - Angel. Thank you. Bye....
Stevie’s voice is unmistakable.
now do "whenever i call you friend" with stevie and kenny loggins
They have a long history together, they are ex's, but remain close friends.
She originally wrote it for Waylon Jennings & Jessi Colter, but they broke up before they could record it, so Stevie recorded it herself.
Waylon wrote it and gave it to Stevie for her to play it at Waylon wedding
Stevie is my favorite female singer songwriter ever
Angela you should try Joe Cocker & Jennifer Warnes Up where we Belong probably one of the best won an Oscar

Yeah, i'd like to be drunk. Have a drunk Miller. Parted party down she's a pretty baby
Boy, Stevie was quite the duet queen, wasn't she? Classic masterpieces with Don Henley, Kenny Loggins, and Tom Petty.
I was so lucky to grow up listening to this music.
I love and met them both Don w eagle's and Stevie twice had to wait for her then here she comes smiles and such a happy mood she wink at me the 1st time she was really down to earth 🌎
With her strong unmistakable voice, Stevie Nicks can't help but be dominant and always admirable in any duet!
Vulnerable is a great word, I think. Thanks for such a great reaction to an awesome old favorite!

Stevie Nicks did a lot of duets. This is probably the best one.
Hey I recommended this a few days ago. Great song
Stevie Nicks wrote this song for Waylon Jennings, but he never recorded it, so she recorded it with her then boyfriend Don Henley.
Stevie next Shanghai said that she hit her blow and her question mark always. Now let's go by the forest place first place that I'd be looking
Adjust it didn't think or hide in sport was too good. She needed that was her bicycle to her
Perfect, this was my wedding dance song, love it
Nice song, can't remember ever hearing this before.
This song takes me back to weekends spent roller skating at the skating rink. Haven’t heard this song in years, love it.

Ah, Stevie... I'll let you in on a little secret. Me and 900 million other guys had a crush on her. I still do.
If you get a chance (not for this topic, but sometime), how about Kiss From A Rose by Seal. It's from the Batman Forever soundtrack. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this one.
I have this album...one my favorites by her...after she left Fleetwood Mac!
Have always loved this beautiful song! So glad you got to enjoy this!!😊

GRAND DAD DJ RATES YOUR PICK❤❤❤❤❤5 STAR❤🩹YOUR PRIZE💯
Much better than this duet is Don Henley with Patty Smyth singing Sometimes Love Ain't Enough. It's right up there with Endless Love.
