Not only Angklung, there are another Sundanese traditional music instruments : Calung, made by bamboo, play by hammering. Arumba, Karinding, Kacapi ( similar like Harp ), Rebab ( similar like violin but only used 2 strings ), Suling ( flute, made from bamboo ), Gamelan, ect. MR.NYERERE please check out : Kacapi Suling, most beautiful softly Sinfanese music.

Ingat dl di thn 1975 kami dr SIS, sklh ID Singapura n atas prakarsa KBRI Singapura, kami melakukan pertunjukan angklung di pusat2 arena n gedung pertunjukan n jg di Wisma ID Singapura.. Sy memainkan simple drum n teman sy memainkan electric bass, adik2 SD memainkan angklung.. Didampingi guru2, kami membawakan lagu2 nasional n bbrp musik pop.. Audience yg umumnya Singaporean menyukainya n sampai2 adik2 kami diminta berfoto n diminta tanda tangannya seolah artis top.. Smg musik tradisional ini dilestarikan n dpt dimainkan di dunia international krn angklung ini mmg unik n tdk ada duanya di dunia..
ID hebat.. ID beridentitas budaya yg luar biasa..
Ini lah indonesia ...khusus bandung maju terus angklung ..semoga mendunia...

And you can see and hear many other traditional instruments from other part of Indonesian provinces.

The most difficult part of playing angklung is the fact that you are not playing a certain part in the way like orchestral instruments do. In an orchestra there are violin 1, violin 2, viola, cello, bass, flute, etc parts. In angklung, you are given a set of notes to play, as one melodic angklung only plays one note, and you must play it when the note must be played. You miss it, the song is broken.

You have to hear other Sundanese instrument played such as Seruling, Kecapi, and Kendang.. even it looks the same like other instrument, but Sundanese have their own melody

If you want the angklung, there is a miniature one....the sound and tone are the same as do re mi fa sol la si do... You can buy them directly from Bandung ...jogja.. or Bali... they are cheap. Free sale in handicraft markets

The last two year because of cvid this teather "Saung Angklung Udjo" almost not survive because there is no one people visit and close because of pandemic rules, before cvid almost every day this place visit by many visitor from Indonesia and also foreigner.
