my current bag (non-TP) that has one of the zippered compartment the fabric tore from stress. It concerns me that these have both sides zip.
Really? I’ve had excellent luck with these bags. Took them on several trips since the video and they’ve held up stellar…. And I almost use the compartments as compression pods! These should be warrantied for life.
I travel for work, but the only time I have a check in luggage is when I visit the Philippines, because of stuff (pasalubong) for relatives. Otherwise, I just carry a backpack and a small sling bag, whether I travel for 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months or 3 yrs.

Monos looks better though
I completely agree that the flat color looks sleek and awesome out of the box and both Away and Travelpro have collections that look as good. It’s just after two trips down the conveyor they get scuffed really bad and then look pretty awful. But completely agree with your point.
