Back in the day you never saw a drag queen out of drag "officially" but NOW it's much more about the art AND the artist. Also since the trans community has become a power unto itself, those queens who are trans are freer to live as women. That leaves the classic female impersonationist with the freedom to not break code and show-up in male clothes.
