When you said at the start that this was for people who knew nothing about cross stitch I was like "perfect!" I didn't even know the tread was called floss LOL. So this was perfect for me. You explained everything thoroughly and slowly so I found it easy to understand and keep up. I also appreciate you saying the "proper" way and your way. With all crafts it's great to know the correct method but we all know we do things our own way and often that is better for us so I like to see both ways. You did a great job. Thanks very much.

Does it matter which direction your x's go? On counted, I do top left to right bottom, then top right down to bottom left. Is that ok?

Thanks for leaving the flub in, actually. My mind wandered at the wrong time and then I got what the end result was going to be but because you went back and did it again (instead of just editing the flub out) I grasped it right away the second time. You eased my brain into it and I appreciate it!

Coming back 11 months later. I've started my own. Maybe a little bigger than I should have started with, but I got excited by my pattern, which is a spring scene with an English cottage. One stitch at a time. I did start out with the 'loop technique' but switched to making knots on the bottom of my thread, works better for me personally. But I do use a hoop still, which helped with working but also doing the pattern in stages. Helps with my motivation. Thanks again so much for this tutorial. I love working on my pattern! 🙂

I'm very new to this and have no clue whether i said that correctly, definitely thinner for the size but it looked more delicate for the design chosen.

This is an amazing video for beginners like me. I just know a little bit about it so your video was beneficial.
Do you also have a video explaining what to do when the project requires different kinds of cross stitches for example half stitches or other stitches?

I just ordered a Christmas stamped cross stitch. I understand everything so far, but on my instructions there is 7 different stitches. Which are all easy, and that's fine, but how do you tell which ones to use throughout the pattern? I wish I could add a picture so you would know what i'm talking about.

Thanks so much for this video. I really liked your tip about when you have to use two threads/floss, I'm definitely going to remember that and use it. I've done cross-stitch before, but always the counted cross-stitch. I just ordered my first stamped one & was wondering if it was the same or not. For the 11 count one (which is what I'm going to be doing), should I soak that when I'm done with my project as well? If so, should the water be hot or warm or what? Should I let it just dry overnight? Do I need to add soap when I soak it? Thanks so much for your help and I found this very helpful 😊

I found this beginner tutorial very helpful. I have been curious as to what a stamped cross stitch was and how to start it. Thank you for the video and for explaining a lot of the terminology. Later I would love to learn how to crotchet. Do you have a beginners guide to that craft?
