I want to compliment this video for being so informative, but I'm really not sure where to start! From nest building to fledging, this was one of the best best Goshawk videos I've ever seen!! It did not focus on any one thing for too long and showed the most important highlights through the whole growing process. If you wanted to know about Goshawks, this is the video for you. Just really very well done! Thank you for sharing this video with all of us.
Well done I've never seen the male goshawk building a nest on video before. Nor I have seen in the wild a female laying her eggs. Thanks again for all the hard work I know what goes into filming observation building a blind the whole business. Thank you, just an old falconer's opinion.
I've watched plenty of videos of raptors' nests with the parent birds feeding the nestlings. Fairly regularly, the parent will decide to eat a morsel itself. Sometimes they seem to decide that's it too big or too difficult to swallow. At other times, they just seem to think "Hmmm... that's a nice, juicy piece of flesh, I'll have that...". Example at 11:07.
Gruss Andreas Neumann
Goshawks are beautiful, but they are relentless killers of Ospreys and for no legitimate reason as Ospreys pose no threat to them or their food sources.
Ospreys are food to goshawks, bald eagles, and owls (great horned owls), and probably many other predators. I have a lot of difficulties to watch ospreys nests because of that :(
@@pascale_eagles Last year, all three Osprey chicks in a nest in Poland were killed one-by-one by a Goshawk. They were just getting ready to fledge, too. In Maine, all the Osprey chicks have been killed by Great Horned Owls for several years in a row. I, like you, am no longer interested in watching the carnage at Osprey nests, natural behavior or not.
@Jamie Koering Ever see the eagle that caught a baby fox and just started digging into it while it was still alive? People can say how awful mankind is but some of those birds are pretty ruthless.
So, i found a pair trying to breed in a local wood near me, absolutely stunning birds and the call is so powerful, they didn't last very long, i think the game keeper killed them. 🤬
@@stephenconway7276 I was reading somewhere recently that the peak district was the first area where the first nest was recorded in the 60s at the start of their come back..

You can see the female was a falconry bird at one time. Has her jesses and bird band.
I was wondering if anyone else noticed that.
I guess an escaped one at that. Those anklets would have been cut off if she was released.
Momma Goshawk escaped the plantation and is now free!
Well put together video. But I'm curious how did one of tbe chicks die? Great video though. RIP lil' chick!!
I love this

Ospreys are pretty much the punching bags of the raptor family

Predatory birds do not have the capability to understand their cruelty however humans do understand our cruelty explicitly.
What abeautiful view and ĺoveĺly family
Interesting to see jesses on the legs of the female....an escaped ex-falconers bird.
👍👍
Não era 3?o que aconteceu com o outro filhote?
O proprietário do canal não o está monitorando. Eu também fiz a mesma pergunta em relação ao terceiro pintinho.
Brilliant. Good to see them returning. Hopefully we can educate the uneducated pricks that want to persecute them
What happened to the other chick?
Lucy lulu i think it’s dead

1001space what you mean it's a falconers bird?? how you know?
the female as got anklets on I guess it was a falconers bird at one time and a ring on its leg
1001space wow i didn't see this! You are right yes!
I keep white goshawks.theres a video on here of a egg hatching
1001space where can I see that please mate? how come they are white the goshawk that you said? Is it a natural thing?
💗❤️🧡💙💛💚💜🖤
Pôr favor alguém traduza em português para eu
Why does the female have Jessie's on her feet if she is a wild bird
What happened to the 3rd chick have died.??
Probably only enough food for raising two.
cannibalised probably
Oke
Does anyone know where in the new forest this is?
Birds weren't very old or thier eyes would be Red. Canned Birds!! But cool anyway. Cheers

Well that female Goshawks got anklets on so surely half the chicks belong to the falconer who lost her, seems logical to me...
apparently it's wild but ringed and has anklets attached for an easier check up
All this is “programmed” behavior.
