I can't believe they treated her like a freak or something during this interview. Why waist her time and their time if their just gonna insult her career choices and personal choices the whole time??

It is strange to listen to this, because I am reading BRAVE. What she says here about her upbringing was clearly censored for the happiness of society by this point. I think that it shows, that she was being controlled by the Hollywood "everything is going great" (help me, I am dying inside, I am trapped) mentality during this interview.

These days, she even claims in interviews that she speaks fluent Italian although she only ever demonstrates it by uttering some random short words (in a thick American accent) and I haven't heard her say a complete sentence yet. She seems to be very critical towards her upbringing in "Brave" and yet in most of her old interviews she's defending it and highlighting the good parts about it.
“Controlled” is probably a very dramatic and exaggerated word. She was there to promote the show. It was her job, a job thousands of other actresses at the time would have happily taken. and she was getting paid well to do it. No one forced her or coerced her. Yes there are managers and publicists whose job it is to advise their client on how to approach potentially difficult subjects in interviews such as Rose’s childhood but I doubt anyone forced her to use the word “idyllic.” I believe Rose was victimized by Harvey Weinstein but I don’t buy a lot of her act now.
Shannen left cuz she got into it with Alyssa, see they used to dress Alyssa like this beautiful Spanish doll and Shannen always looked like an old maid in those boxy sweaters it wasn’t until season 2-3 that they began dressing Shannen in pretty tops and outfits but Shannen always felt Alyssa got special treatment even accused her of sleeping with the director in order to get better script lines and more screen time, so Shannen said it’s either her or me! They chose to fire Shannen and in came🌹and Holly took it the hardest cuz she was best friends with Shannen out side of the show but Alyssa was glad she was gone cuz she stated that Shannen used to scare her while on the set! They even had to bring in a mediator in order to keep Shannen from ripping Alyssa’s eyes out! It was rough being a Charmed one back in the day🙄
we have similar taste - I felt EXACTLY the same with Charmed! I did watch season 3 and 4 with quite some delight because I liked the characters so much (with less delight after Prue/shannen's departure though - my favorite character). But ya the "Disney chick" factor disturbed me tremendously. It took the flavour and character out of the series.
ya I walked off as a viewer when the baby storyline took over (I still think that creator Constance M. Burge would have flipped if she ever watched the show.. SOO far from her ideas!! LOL). 8 years usually is too long. some shows keep up their character throughout several seasons though. if business interests destroy an unusual show then it s always unfortunate ;) Ya Shannen actually left a great impression. The show really declined later, predominantly because of Kern you're right. Good 4 her

I agree.. and you know why? the creator of the show, a woman, I can't remember her name right now, lost more and more control over the storyline for commercial reasons (network interference) to make it more "mainstream". The mythology and darkness therefore gradually faded and gave way for those love stories dominating the show... i did like the show to about the time when the baby stories took over. But it was best in the first 2 seasons without this massive "chick" factor.

And they were only planning on doing season 4 with her then ending but she was more popular than Prue so much that they made 4 MORE SEASONS. To be honest I didn’t like Prue until season 3. She was kind of rude and to serious of a character Paige added a lot of flavor and life to the show. I believe that Piper, Pheobe and Paige have more of a connection than with Prue.
Rose is so so beautiful here. Just stunning. She still is, but in a different way.
Her energy is soft here, she's a bit harder now like she fought a war or something.
