How to Replace the Door Seals on a 1973-1979 Ford Pickup

    The door seals on our 1973 Ford F350 pickup were dry rotted and falling off when we bought the truck. Replacing these seals is easy and can literally be done in about 30 minutes with only a Philips screwdriver (to remove the sill plates). The new seals simply snap over top of the weatherstripping groove that runs around the perimeter of the door opening. The seal will then tuck under the sill plate across the bottom.

      Sounds exactly like what you would think. It's super solid and very satisfying. I'll try to capture that sound in one of the next videos.

      I used a little bit of adhesive in the inner, upper corners, just to keep them in place. The seal shouldn't really need adhesive, though.

    👎 The far better solution is to go to the bone yard and get the GM crimp on style of door weatherstrip. Far superior to anything Ford did. My '71 highboy had this treatment back in the early 80's.
