They even sounded amazing playing for 45 minutes next to the bus after a full show. I've seen them play live almost a dozen times and I can't get enough. Country is not my thing, but this band made me develop a great appreciation for Blue Grass and I listen to them almost every day. Absolutely amazing musicians!!!
I’m not keen on country either. But Nickel Creek is my favorite band. And I enjoy bluegrass a ton.
I think an amazing beyond amazing concert would be a long show of Nickel Creek, Alison Krauss and Union Station, and Brandi Carlile.
Yes! Please next song!! Love This!
Yes please! I love Nickel Creek! I remember when they were first out on the radio.
Nickel Creek is Sean (Guitar) and Sara (Fiddle) Watkins (siblings), and Chris Thile. Nickel Creek performing will always have the three of them. They’ve been playing together since Sean was 12 and Chris and Sara were 8. In Southern California, quite a ways from roots country.
During the stay at home orders they did a set of streaming concerts called LiveCreek. All three around a mic. Great if you get a chance to see any of that.
Plus they’re on tour this year, first time as a group together in 9 years. Fantastic group.
Enjoyed the watch.
Hey Abby, we appreciate the view, and the info on the group! Hopefully they’ll make it to our neck of the woods at some point, we’d love to see them live!
Yes do more that sounded great.
Regarding, getting them to follow you around and play, in their video for "Speak" at the ed Chris Thile follows a guy out of the theater and follows him around playing. Lol.
I absolutely loved this group when they first came out. Their self-titled album was part of the soundtrack for my time in the army. When I heard you say that you guys had reacted to “The Lighthouse‘s Tale,” I immediately paused this video and went back. Loved it. This reaction was amazing as was the material. And I really, really hope you do more of these. I love your love of bluegrass, Chris. And I love the fact that you really get into it, Matt. ❤️
I discovered these guys through Tim Foust of Home Free, he's a big fan. Great harmonies.
Nickel Creek is an old time favorite around our house. Loved their debut, and, of course, This SIde, which won a grammy, but When does the Fire die was great too! The girl and the shorter guitarist are brother and sister and grew up singing Bluegrass in California. The taller guy (Chris Thile) is their best friend who sang and played with them (and also, a genius).
Regarding the microphones and knowing when to move in and out, why, that's a Bluegrass thing. And since these guys grew up singing in Bluegrass competitions, they know all about it!
If you guys want to see some great musicianship, you should react to Punch Brothers(Thile’s other band) perform their song “familiarity” live in Boston..
Nickel Creek is great, but what the punch brothers do is just the next level up.
When In Rome!!!!
Still begging for Superfruit Frozen Medley. Please!
Unfortunately we can’t it is owned by universal studios…the same studio that blocked our Monday episode
@@307Reacts Well, poop! Irritating that other reactors can and you get blocked.
Anything from their self titled album from 2000! “The Lighthouses Tale,” “Reasons Why,” “ Sweet Aston,” and “The Fox” are a few of my favorites.
