- Going north on the Old Telegraph Track and exploring the northernmost point of the Australian continent. Follow this challenging offroad track and see what it takes to go through this wonderful part of Australia.
From Cairns via Cooktown to the tip!
Special thanks to everyone who contributed to this Documentary, especially to my friend Hubi, who borrowed me his amazing DJI Mavic drone!! The rest of the footage is filmed with a Sony FS5, a Sony as50 and an iPhone X on a DJI Osmo mobile gimbal.
Thanks to Morò and Raphi for their advice and to Julius for the final quality check of the film.

Ex Australian Army Land Rover, tough as nails !!
👍 thanks for your vlog
Interesting to see an overseas visitor's impression of the Cape and one willing to take on the OTT. It is a special part of Australia and even though you only saw a small part of it your appreciation is obvious. Please come back some day and see more of our wonderful country.
Dear Geoff, thanks for your positive comment. We still think a lot of our great time in Australia and can’t wait to come back!
And I didn’t leave you country without some new 4wd guides for our next trip... :-)
Wow i thought what a horrible german dialect. But stuck to the Video. Brought back big memories to our 2 years offroading in oz 7 Years ago.
We are current working on a Visa to live there.... Anyway well done, one of the better Holidaymovies.

Great little doco, loved it all. Just an honest video of a great trek with real people.

Awesome travel to watch in Aussie
One of the best Cape York OTT videos I have seen. N I have watched heaps. Thanks to you n your family for choosing to come Down Under for a trip of a lifetime and share it here with us. Great to see the true Aussie hospitality show through right from your 1st night on the trip. I hope I have as much fun as you did when I head up in July.
This video came up in my recommendations, we met you and your family at Canal Creek @20mins we helped rescue the white BT50 hahaha! Nice video

Excellent documentary!! I spend quite a bit of time watching adventure video's and this is one of the best. it had a great balance of topics for all that were watching, not just 4x4 driving.
You covered the history of Australia and even got some of the new natives to be part of it. :-). I came to Australia 28 years ago from the UK and I have only experienced a fraction of it.
I hope you will come back and do more documentaries in the near future.
Dear Owen,
appreciate that you liked it. All the comments from you and the over persons on this documentary are very motivating! Thanks.

Will be up there in Sept. Travelling from SW WA via Newcastle, Birdsville and Tasmania (for a month).
Nice
up the perentie
Just my point of knowledge, if the red rocks of Utah had a baby with the flatness of Kansas, you'd get Australia.
😂
Awesome trip! And if I could , ask how did you find the hire company ? Trustworthy, customer service etc?
Thanks for your feedback!
First of all, you have not much of a choice. There is almost no other hire company. The other big company which is renting 4wd cars for cape York, seems (as rumors say) more often than not to charge high penalties after returning the car after the trip, if the costumers went on the OTT (they check we GPS Data which is recorded by the car). Even if they say you are legal to go on the OTT when you hire the car. I would not recommend to risk to find out, if these rumors are true or not…
That made it easy for us to choose NoLimits. They were trustworthy and did their best to help us to plan the trip (I was torturing them with several Emails about the route, campsites etc…). Before the start the owner was explaining the car really in detail, that was cool.
The car was fine. But it’s clear, it’s a former army truck, not a new car… we got really dusty :).
But we saw several very expensive and highly tuned offroad cars get stuck, but not our old Perentie! We had not a single time to reverse or got stuck!
It’s perfect for this trip. After all these positive words, I should mention, that I don't get paid by NoLimits :)
I would choose them again if I am going to come to the region next time.
If anyone has good experience with other companies for the OTT, feel free to write about your experience in the comments!
Enjoy your trip!
Had Alyce said no, it would had been a long trip back Lol...
LOL

The toyota doing off roading on road biased tyres ??
'had a bit of a laugh, too, when I saw what rubber he was using. Though, really, ya've gotta give the guy credit where credit's due. He did tow that van from W.A., somewhere (presumably as part of his around Australia trip). And as much as one might like to have various sets of tyre's put aside for each of the different legs planned, though in reality that's just not logical. Though I think the van had at least a decent set of A/T's shod on each side. Maybe even basic M/T's:

Can you rent one of these to make the trip?
Hi Coordinator61,
Yes, you can rent them. It was the only company I found which was allowing to take the car on the OTT. The temporary base of the rental company during the season is in Cairns.
