Having these games plus the Sly Cooper trilogy during my childhood really makes me appreciate what I had as a 2000's kid
I should be grabbing the Sly Cooper trilogy in December! Hopefully you can relive some more memories 😊
I'm disappointed my parents never got me sly. I didnt even know it was a game until maybe 5 years ago. They did get me Jak and Daxter, Crash, Spyro, ratchet and clank and Tak though. Banjo and Kazooie is another I wish I didn't miss out on.
What is crazy is that I was just thinking to myself "Someone should make a Sly franchise Vs Jak and Daxter franchise video".
The animation of Kira talking about her number one rule lived in my head rent free for like 8 years. So much sass in the way she moves
It's been in my head for 22 years
Definitely one of those characters that becomes a childhood fictional crush. I mean how could you not
I'm gay but I can see it. I just like it when people are sassy :)
It was the fisherman's laugh for me
@@zoltar8177”there be poisonous eels in these water, catch even one of those buggers and you’ll poison the whole dang catch”
This was heavenly. Jak and daxter content in 2023.
If only a certain company would remember the IP exists.
@@AzureRoxeikr. Sly cooper, and jak and daxter are the only 2 in the old big 4 that don't get love. Spiro and crash both got remakes. Why not jak n sly
Look up open goal, you wont be disappointed
@@Half_Way_Zeusyou say that but Sly had a full blown sequel
Stil waiting on jak4😔
For the precursors, I like that they are small and cute but still just as powerful as they were made out to be. They still created the worlds, had those giant robots, all of that. They just didnt LOOK menacing.
I remember being terrified of the Dark Eco Plant boss because if he strikes the final hit, you're taken into the perspective of Jak and get swallowed whole.
I was always scared to go to Misty island
i would get so nervous swimming anywhere in the first game lol that lurker shark used to scare the fuck outta me haha
Had me in a headlock for like two weeks 😂
I never died to his bite, so I didn't know that. I always died to the minions.
Misty island and the lurker sharks always spooked me.
The "This isn't a game" joke in Jak 3 will always be my favorite joke in video game history.
soo out of pocket but hilarious
I also like the "GAME RIGHTS!?" in Jak II
just the quick look at the screen is what sells it so well lol
28:34 / 56:04 / 01:19:44 breaking the 4th wall is SO COOL. Lets u feel like being in for the joke. Jak & Dax… a true classic!
Back when games had so much love in them
Agreed 🥲
New games feel so soulless. Just graphics and bad gameplay. Any good new ones I haven’t tried?

@@jaystuart4300short games have really been great for me lately, though some are kinda old just new to me. Lots of them feel far more creative and passionate. Edith Fitch was the first one that kicked off me looking up great games under 10hrs and having a blast. There are games under 20-30min, there’s even a little game called Progress that you download as a tiny file on your PC to play through someone’s life as a sort of tiny movie. Hard to explain and it’s better to just experience it tbh
1:23:57 You can use Light Jak to regenerate all your health after each round, enemies are stuck still while you do it, that's why there's a light eco vent there, so there's no reason not to use L1 and triangle at the end of each round.
Thank you for letting me know! I quite liked the difficulty of the last boss but when I play the Vita version, I'll be sure to use the vents! 😅
An hour long Jak and Daxter Trilogy video from Satiire? It's gonna be a good day I think
You know it! The plan wasn't to make it so long but I had to show off each game to it's full potential as this trilogy is great! 😊
I will simply never get over the fact that my man’s best friend got turned into a furret and just lives out the rest of his days as one
Daxter no joke looks better that way. If he got turned back the ending would have been his gf leaving his ass. Unless he turned back and got a glow up. xD
Played Jak 1 and 2 as a child but never was able to find a copy of Jak 3.
Daxter's kind being the all powerful precursors is hilarious and totally in line with the spirit of the game.
If you have a PS4/PS5, the Jak 3 port isn’t bad at all. Jak 2 and 3 are tied as my favorites. Absolutely love Jak and Daxter as well.
the order i played the series in was X, 2, 3, then 1
so i kind of went through the series just already knowing it as an edgy futuristic shooter platformer thing and then later got the original and was like "why is this a different game i liked the guns more"
The precursor twist is actually a super cool addition. Ties it all together in a nice bow and helps explain what Daxter turned into. I always thought it was just some random squirrel
I agree! It was great to finally understand what happened to Daxter and the twist was a great addition to the game!
I still remember laughing my ass off at that reveal for like 15 minutes with my brother and cousin.
Wait did the underwater precursor city not have a single trophy connected to it? That was one of my favorite sections of the game because of the precursor aesthetic throughout. It also has some of the funnest platforming challenges in the game imo.
It was also one of my favorites too! Especially at the end when you have to climb back to the top while trying not to die in the process
Due to how long these Trilogy videos end up being though, some content has to be cut out so with the city not having any trophies, it was one of the places I chose not to show 😬
This made me want to play through the trilogy again myself. I got to this part too and I had just remembered how much I love that part of the game.
Still have to go through it for the collectable anyway
One of my all time favorite trilogies. Binging this video in one sitting for sure
Appreciate you man! Definitely an underrated gem!
Two things.
Slow time was the most potent ability because it invalidated any difficulty from every boss fight after you got it
Jak IS Mar... The Jak you see is a double or time remnant maybe at the end of the game... Jak goes with the precursors through time and builds Haven City... At least that was how I interpreted it.
56:03 😂😂😂😂 10/10 Joke, I wish I got to experience this game as a kid, looks too fun & enjoyable, great video!
Honestly i think the whole precursor twist would have hit better for me, at least, if they had stuck with the first games style over the more gritty older style of the second and third game
Its a bit cheap, but for the eggs in Jak II, if you jump above a gold egg, pause and select restart mission, Jak will fall and collect the egg and still restart the mission. For Jak 3, hold the button that turns you into Dark Jak down while standing next to the gold egg and do the same thing, pause and restart mission. He'll collect it and restart the mission. Takes the fun out of some of the challenges but it also makes those damn difficult ones a non-issue. I do love that you genuinely collected them for the video though, very well done! 😊
I feel like the explanation for jak being mar may have been left on the cutting room floor, but the way I interpreted it was a bit wild so bear with me here.
The precursors are crazy powerful, incredibly advanced and capable of travelling through space and time, so I assumed that when they granted Daxter’s ‘deepest wish’ they not only gave him pants and a ladyfriend, but a *copy* of jak to keep him company- all while Mar moved on with the precursors to close off a few time loops (like building haven and becoming his own ancestor) before going on to remove the dark makers for good.
In any case this was a delightful dose of sweet sweet nostalgia to keep me cozy on a sleepless night. Thanks, man.
Feel like I'm an odd one out but I love the direction after J&D, there are so many platformers that you just run around and collect stuff, but Jak 2 and 3? Never found another game like them, sure I like playing most of the games I played as a kid, but these I think really stand the test of time and aren't only good because I was young when I first got into them. Something about the mix of platforming, action, complex plot (for a kid's game), badass characters, humour and adult jokes from Daxter, along with variety between an open world to explore and collect hidden orbs, linear missions, little optional challenge missions, the jetboard, hover vehicles, a bunch of unique cars in Jak 3, they're just so good. Plus, I swear that scene of Jak realising that Jak 2's world is the future hits so hard every time while looking at Samos' hut in the sewer area.
Same here. I remember back as a child, Jak 2 blew my mind. I just couldn't fathom that it had like an open world. I replayed the trilogy last year and it holds up really really well. Still awesome games and the HD remake looks good as well. Jak 2 was hard though. Struggled so much as a kid xd.
I'm with you on that one.
Jak 1 is really fun and I like it a lot, but I'd take Jak 2 over it any time. Really love the vibe of the game.
Though I played 2 and 3 before 1 so I didn't had nostalgia for the first game when I played the others. I just found it kinda weird that the first game was so different.
Most people that argue against the change of direction are the fans of the first game that probably wanted something closer to what they had previously.
I really liked Jak 2 because of it's gta style gameplay, as I had never played a GTA game before. I really liked the guns and how you can still melee, and LOVED the fact I could roam the city and steal peoples vehicles for a joy ride 😂
this trilogy is a core memory in my childhood, thanks for letting me enjoy these amazing games once again ❤
Taking me back to my childhood, so much nostalgia watching the play through. Great video man
First of all, nice to meet a fellow jak and daxter content creator 😮. Secondly I am glad to see this game is still so popular 😀
And lastly, I am also glad to see the jak community supports this kind of content 🎉
Me too! It's great seeing how many people still love this series and the memories that come along with it! 😊
@@Satiire +1. Guess see you around fam
@@Kamurjan 100% 🤝🤝
I like the Precursor reveal because it reflects real life. Pretty much every culture (Nords, sit down) holds humanity up as descending from divinity. But then critical thinking meets science and bam! Evolution. We're basically apes. Cool. Great. That's gonna blow over well.
Man I love you for this, helping me relive my childhood right now, idk if I can get these games anymore, but just watching this is about enough
I havent even thought about this game for easily over a decade. Thank you for the nostalgia run man😊
Man dude... this made my heart feel so warm. I played this game with my little brother for 8 years since the trilogy was all we could afford until we were older. Really made some good memories come up thank you for the video.
These games are linked to so many memories and I'm glad it brought some of yours back too! Thank you so much for watching the video 💜
Anime
A masterpiece Satire. You should be proud!
Thank you brother! Appreciate you checking the video out 🙏
Congrats on completing the trilogy, played these back on the PS3 years ago. Great vid!
Thank you man! I'm jealous you got to experience these all those years ago, I was on 360 at that point 😢
21:21 That´s the best friends dance.
My favourite trilogy of all time 😍 brilliant video. Not usually a big fan of these longer type videos but this was certainly worth watching all the way through 👍
Thank you for watching the entire video, it means a lot! It's an amazing trilogy and it seems to be a majority favourite! 👀
I'm so glad I finally got to watch this masterpiece!
Another amazing video brother, so much nostalgia being beautifully paced within a short movie!
You did such a great job incorporating everything, the gameplay, narration and the hilarious cutscenes!
For me, my personal favourite out of the three was Jak 2.
I don't know why, I just loved the look of Dark Jak. Back then, my simple mind was blown away with how cool he looked haha.
Really smashing out some terrific games on the channel man, can't wait to see what's next! 🔥💯
Thanks for checking the video out man! Sorry for such a delayed response, I've been meaning to catch up on comments for a while so I'm getting round to it now :)
I loved making this video and I'm glad so many people, including yourself, have been brought back to their childhood just by watching me play these games!
I think enough time has passed for me to agree with you that Jak 2 is actually pretty good! I wish I played with Dark Jak a bit more though 😅
Really appreciate you checking the video out man, thank you 💜
These games were literally my childhood. And then when they released on ps3 and ps4 I platinumed all of them twice, loved every minute of it
My first games :’) the beginning of it all. Thank you for this trip down nostalgia avenue. ❤
One of my favourite trilogies of all time, absolutely loved this video!! Congrats on the platinums 🥰🥰
Thank you! It's such an amazing trilogy! 👏
Just way able to finally finish this video, loved the intro! These games really do seem amazing, one day ill get around to playing them, amazing vid as always!🤝
Appreciate it brother! 🫡 The intro is a hit and miss, not sure if it's worthwhile keeping or if I should go back to how it usually is but I enjoyed trying something different!
They're a great set of games for sure! If I end up trying Sly then you've got to try the Jak trilogy 🤣
@@Satiire challenge accepted! Low key that could be a great collab video👀
Thanks for this video! It's really nice to revisit these games like this
Great video! I love the first game so much and you touched upon all of my favorite parts and feelings.
A quick tip for the final boss of the first game, you don't have to use the first person view to shoot it. You can just shoot and it will autotarget.
Thank you! I'm glad I was able to show off all the best parts :)
Appreciate the tip as well! If I ever get round to playing it on the Vita then I'll be sure to use the auto target instead! 🙏
I am a TREMENDOUS fan of the Jak games and I'm not really sure if I'm the only one who thinks this but I've never really thought of Jak's people as just straight up humans I've always thought they were like elf people considering they have long ears and they seem to live to be pretty old unlike normal humans
Great video. I played Jak 2 a lot when I was younger so it was cool to see someone go through and get the platinum
Amazing trilogy, I can't believe I missed this when playing all those years back! I've been tempted to go through them again recently 😅
Thank you for this throwback down memory lane, guess I’ll have to look for the old jak games
I like how the characters break the forth wall, btw great video!
This was the first game series I completed as a kid, absolutely loved it. Got hooked at daycare playing the first missions over and over again because they didn’t have a memory card. So I went out and bought my own at the time which was a a lot for a kid! I did so many chores just for a little 16mb memory card which is CRAZY looking back now. But finishing jack 3 gave me my first like gamer depression, like I beat it now there’s no other game I want to play.
None the less-I enjoyed the video, it was a trip down memory lane for sure 👍🏻
Thank you for playing my favorite childhood game. It was great seeing everything again.
6:20 I was typing a comment about this very thought. 100% agree, Jak 1 is child's play but in a good way.
Jak 2 and 3 on ps2 were my childhood man. I played them nonstop. (mostly Jak 3)
Always loved that subtle fourth wall break in Jak 3.
Same, it was a wild ride.
Thank you for this nostalgic trip
22:26 That's the best teenager's advice.
Can’t wait to give this a watch 🙌🏼
Thank you bro! 😊
I love when tara strong randomly shows up in video games.
Great video mate. Funny as well to witness the different tastes. I only 100% Jak 3 back on ps2 but the "most difficult" defense mission you mentionned, I couldn't even remember it. The Pac-Man mini-game however, god it was such a pain in the ass, I sucked at it. Yet you seemed to like it a lot. The whole video was a blast.
Amazing job! The Jak and Daxter trilogy isn’t a game I see many people play, let alone platinum! Oh the nostalgia😌
Man I love this game so much
That I wish we could get a remaster
i bought the trilogy on ps5 a week ago and honestly the apart from the resolution being low and now hd it still holds up pretty well. i prefer to pay 20$ for the whole trilogy instead of it being remaster and repackaged at 70 bucks
13:07 got me laughing 😂 Was also my favorite theme back as child ❤
I’ll have to watch the whole vid to know for sure, BUT skipping “the rocks do not recall” line is blasphemy 😂 the whole intro is so incredible!
Excited to see what this video has in store! Huge long time fan of the series
I have so many memories deeeeeep in my brain that got pulled back out watching the Jak2 portion. Holy hell the nostalgia is crazy
My first 'Jak and Daxter" was 'Jak X' and 'Daxter' which I played a couple years back and just thought it was cool . Watching this actually ties everything that happens in the games together quite well😂
Fantastic video for a fantastic trilogy!
I just found this account and it makes me really feel happy for once. It's amazing. Thank you. Have you ever played the Tak and Loc games? Thank you for your content
Dude, when I found your channel, I thought this was content of someone with over a million subscribers! Fantastic videos, man. Definitely subscribing.
Man this brings back memories, the sly cooper collection was great as well
Nice one mate. Never played them myself
An excellent series. One of my top 100 games/series.
Jak and Daxter series has always been my #1 since the first game as a kid. What a compelling story, characters and world. Nothing will ever top it for me
The reward animations have so much charm to em.
well that was a wave of nostalgia I didn't know I needed, this trilogy is probably the only reason I still own a playstation.
good video! my fav childhood series. i think maybe you forgot to put footage of the underwater level at the blue sage’s section of the game for the precursor legacy.. still 10/10
man, that haven city music brings back so many memories
Hi. Fellow trophy hunter and Jak & Daxter fan here.
First off, I wanted to say congratulations for getting the platinums to the J&D trilogy.
Second, I just wanted to mention that it is very refreshing to see another trophy hunter actually play and obtain the trophies to the game the way it was intended rather than popping the platinums via Debug Mode. You have my respect for that. That and a like and subscribe.
Lastly, while I respect that you didn’t like the tone shift with the franchise, I’m the opposite. I loved the tone shift and I think the franchise needed it.
Good job and happy trophy hunting!
Thank you man! I really appreciate that 🙏
I wanted to show these games off to their full potential! I think most people managed to grab the trophy using debug so they would've missed out on a great story! I'm happy I experienced these games the correct way 😊
Yeah looking back on it now, Jak 2 really wasn't all that bad! It was just a big shift in gameplay from the first game and not the type of shift I was expecting. I think I'd enjoy the game if I went back to it again in the future since I know what to expect :)
Thank you for checking out the video! 🤝
even after 20 years, the speech Samos gives at the beginning of 2 is still amazing
This is soooo good!!
that muse was the bane of my existence when i was younger xD
I enjoyed this video, good content!
Thank you 😊
As a kid, even after replaying Jak3 i never noticed how some scenes hint at Daxter looking like the precursors
Great video. Didn’t realise how good daxter was as a character, that boy sure loves to dance
Daxter is the best character by far 🤣
the way you say “moose” instead of “muse” is great lol
Another great video as always
Appreciate you bro! 🤝
The first game I fell in love with as a child
Running theory for the ending, one of the precursors took the place of Jak so that he could stay with his friends. With the powers they hold, its very believable. Plus, none of the statues actually look anything like jak. If anything, they look like the chubbier precursor at the end if he were human.
Jak is just named after the founder, as he is a decendent. I have the trilogy Plats on both PS3 and PS4 [ I believe there is a Vita list as well, but I don't own a Vita and apparently the ports are bad ] and Jak X [ PS4 only ] as well, which I actually enjoyed so I don't know why it was considered a flop. Although I did like the dig at the game from Ellie in the Left Behind DLC.
Loved these games as a kid.
Jake and Daxter 3 was the first game I played, and I was barely understand english 😂 oh the nostalgia ❤
these games were the perfect amount of difficult
I agree, first game, even though it was a collectathon, it was fairly easy, where anyone could pick it up and put it down anytime they pleased and feel satisfied, Jak 2 is a bit on the hard side of things where it can get annoying, but one repeat playthroughs with the knowledge of what's to come you can overcome those challenges much easier, making it a good time (even if I nearly rage quit both on PS2 as a kid and PS4 a couple years back), and finally Jak 3 had the best balancing, certain parts could be frustrating, but they made for it with new weapon upgrades, and the light Jak abilities to ease you through, and again repeat playthroughs were MUCH easier, even though somehow on PS4 I had it surprisingly harder than on PS2, as I remember blazing through the OG PS2 version.
(Sorry for the long post! But TL;DR) Jak 1 fairly easy for everyone, Jak 2 hard at first but repeat plays are easier, Jak 3 meets a fine line and gets easier in repeat plays.
I thoroughly loved the gameplay jump from Jak 1 and Jak 2. It felt the game was expanding/“maturing” along with its audience. I think the model from the first game would have severely limited the sequels
That's actually a really good view! I think the jump was necessary for the story progression and looking back on it, the overall gameplay did benefit too!
As a child I loved Jak and Daxter, when I heard about the changes they made for Jak 2, I was so upset and avoided playing it for months. When I eventually did play it I ended up loving it just as much as the first.
My favourite franchise in all of gaming, would give anything to experience these games for the first time again
It's so great to see people still play these games and talk about them, as they are what got me into video games in the first place! I had a friend who owned all three games. I did get to play little bits and pieces of The Precursor Legacy by myself, although for the most part I would only watch and have a good time. Jak II was the first game I owned and played through by myself. It also is my personal favorite in the series, closely followed by Jak 3. If I had to say, The Precursor Legacy, as charming as it is, is the weakest in the series. Although it laid out the groundwork masterfully and the games were only improved as the series progressed. And if we're also talking about Jak X, I'd place that behind Jak II but somewhere real close to 3. It's my favorite racing game and always such a thrill to return to.
By the way, it was really funny seeing you spin around as you were riding the elevator at 1:12:36 because that is what my friend would always do in The Precursor Legacy. Naturally I adopted this silly habit as well.
Dude these vids are phenomenal. Hope there are more to come. Thanks for the time and effort in this video. So great
Thank you 💜
There will be loads more! I should be wrapping up the next one soon :)
I love the just casually glossing over "grab the first seal in the slums," part. God that mission hurt as a kid.
Cant wait to see this viedo while sleeping
some of my most original memories on this earth include getting a ps2 for my birthday , with the ps2 came my first game i had ever owned. Jak and Daxter.
Hearing Gol's name pronounced "Galacheron" is not something I knew I needed. Makes him sound like a Galactus level threat
Go in Graphic Options, hold d pad UP and R3 at same time once to turn off invert camera.
Errol accidentaly killing himself during the race reminds me of my first playthrough, in which on the second race all other racers crashed at the same spot and died, and all I had to do was complete the course without dying. I'll never forget such a ridiculous situation.
Edit: it was on the first lap too.
Thanks to one of my Cousins not only did I grew up with this trilogie but also still have a PS2 with all 3 games!
Good to see it still gets some love nowadays
Jak was named after Mar the creator of New Haven… tho with the ability to go back in time and apparently another time map it’s insinuated he does it again at some point becoming the actual Mar himself. This is a nod back to what Samos said in the beginning, even the rocks do not recall because precursor tech comes from the future.
Congrats on the platinum trophies. I'm trying to platinum jak 2 but the gold times of the races are frustratingly difficult to beat. With Jak 3 I somehow missed 3 orbs but I have no idea why or where, so I still have that one to beat some day.
If you’re on the ps4, I think in Jak 3 there’s a race in the desert that just doesn’t give you the 3 orbs for beating it because of a bug or something, and sadly I don’t know if there’s a way to get fix it
@@cherries8928 that could explain a lot...next time I will try the PS3 version.
As Cherries has already mentioned, the PS4 port is broken I believe. The ports are riddled with glitches and audio issues so if you ever want to play them again, definitely get the PS3 collection :)
@@Satiire are u serious
@@Satiire yep, I was at 92% when I encountered the old stadium glitch in Jak 2 because I did the extra races before the end of the game. Keira doesnt show up at the stadium and you cant turn of the race because the city is on alert. Never heard of it before, but it was an old PS2 bug that was fixed in the platinums release, but the PS4 version uses the original release with the bug. Hours of work wasted and the only option is to start a new game. I cried that evening...
