It really should have been Martin's seat. They've strung him along on it for a while, but I'm sure the marketing allure of Marc was great. I'm just excited to see how it turns out for both of them.
Dovi was an amazing rider.
He was. but he had to face MM in his absolute prime. Dovi should have been WC, much more so than Hayden or Mir.

Guess ducati are building an extra wall in their pit box next season. Honestly this was the dumbest decision I've ever seen in my 44 years of watching motogp. I wont be surprised if gigi wakes up with a horses head in his bed.
1. Marc may very well injure himself and be out for next 2 seasons. Ducati still need to pay him.
2. Hes crashed the ducati more times this season than pecco did all of last season. (High chance of injury and waste of money)
3. Pecco and Marc will be fighting while Pedro and Jorge have a stable environment with KTM and Aprilia and share information with their teammate.
4. 99.9% of their Italian fan base hate Marc.
Maybe 70% of Ducati fans in general as well.
5. Does Ducati want a Spanish rider to Beat Agostini's record.
6. Ducati showing they obviously had no faith in Pecco to win in 2025 if Marc went to another Manufacturer. Great moral boosting there Ducati.
7. Martin was the clear better choice and now they might lose the title to Aprilia next year.
For us fans though it will be another interesting season with marc and pecco on the same bike and pedro and jorge on bikes that can compete with ducati now they have young hungry talented riders on board. Speaking as a Marc fan, I hope this doesn't turn into a Ducati GP. Hopefully, Aprilia and KTM can still challenge them next season. I'd also love more intense (but respectful) duels with Pecco. I noticed something interesting Gigi said earlier about choosing Marc over Jorge, he mentioned about "maturity" (in riding, etc). It's a logical decision I reckon, without blatantly ignoring Jorge Martin's (and Enea's) riding talent. Pecco and Marc have that maturity and consistency, they can bounce back from problems, riding around well (with their talents and limits) and extracting what's best from situations. Champions are not the ones who never lose and never feel afraid. But they chose to persevere and deliver what matter the most they hold dear; knowing when to advance, constrain, or bravely withdraw. Retreat isn't always a coward's move. Look at what Marc has done from Honda to Gresini then to Ducati factory!
It already is a DUCATI GP and they have earned it. They have literally innovated everything in the sport from aero packages to ride height devices. All other manufacturers just expect to be fast without putting in the work

Ducati was a winning squad when Rossi joined. Stoner won 3 of the last 6 races of 2010. They may not have won the championship for 3 years but they were winning at least 4 races a season.

@cblockston Rossi was a brilliant rider. You don't have to revise history to make him look better, Rossi's record speaks for itself. Marquez is also a brilliant rider. If Marquez wins a championship on a dominant Ducati it will be just as impressive as Rossi winning on a dominant Honda or Yamaha. Having the best bike helps but the rider still needs to get it done.

Marquez certainly did the best move, fully knowing that the factory team would never EVER allow a satellite team to win a championship. They can't control what happens on the track but they sure as hell give the best of the best material to the factory teams, so Martin, despite being definitely on par, even superior, to Bagnaia, would never be allowed to win... I'm glad he found place on another factory bike, I'm sure he will want to kick some Ducati's ass very badly in 2025

Stoner in Ducati was like Marquez in Honda..wins the championship with a bad bike...both adapted well...and Rossi in Ducati was like Lorenzo in Honda, both couldn't adapt and suffering a lot

During Rossi in Ducati, the bike had the worst reliability in racing and bad handling. Yeah casey was special but when regulations changed to 800cc. So its a big different engine.

2015 memories (Rossi fans) will definitely leave DUCATI, except for Pecco.

What difference 2024 ducati vs 2023 Ducati?
At today no difference in terms of timing performance, but the new GP24 bike is still under developing process, so we're gonna see the entire difference by august when motoGP season will restart after the 1month pause.
If ONLY Dovi could win the 2017 or 2018 World title, Ducati would have Marc as their 7th World Champ.
