Just got one a couple days ago, and have been playing alot of cod with it, I absolutely love it, it's well made and solid feeling. There are cheaper clones of the redragon version, don't get one of those like I did at first. Highly recommend.
This is exactly why I'm researching for the best budget option, I simply can't into keyboard gaming but this one looking a bit more comfortable should help.
Im trying to get used to using a keyboard more for gaming. Im pretty used to it with strategy and simulation type games but not fast paced FPS and racing games
@@Wut78 you can always plug in a controller but it's worth it learning how to use a keyboard I suggest beating a campaign game for easy familiarity life for example borderlands or call of duty
I've been gaming on pc for 4 years and this is also for me. I full size keyboard takes up so much desk space and I don't use most of the keys anyway so..
i use this keyboard for gaming 2 years now. Its very comfortable and the buttons are perfectly placed and easy reachable. I play alot of league of legends and i put the attack move on the P and N buttons which are naturally placed under my thumb, thats make it alot easier than pressing A ot V/C on normal keyboards. Also the RGB doesnt look cheap i can tell my gaming laptop has a worse RGB than the keyboard. Overall i see only pros in using this keyboard
the software for basic rebinding are simple the only trick you need to know it to make sure that "light" is UNCHECKED or you will not be able to rebind the keys. Sorry i have not tried the macros so i don't know. only 4 saved setups.
Of the several options out there, I found this one to be ideal given the switch choices and the QWERTY setup, unlike say the Razer. It has transformed gaming when I have to use my laptop.
I bought one of these on a whim recently, for $36. I saw that it had blue switches (wish I'd gotten browns, but only because these are a little clicky, they still feel good though) & I thought for that little money it was worth the risk. And I play on low sense, so I'm often hitting my keyboard. This thing is so comfortable that I had to run to CZcams reviews to make sure I hadn't lost my senses. Some things do suck, like the software & programmability, but they can be worked around, especially if you have normal sized, to larger hands. This keyboard fits perfectly. I also play out of ESDF instead of WASD on a normal keyboard, so I had to change that up because the ergonomics want your hand to be on WASD, & as much of a tradeoff as that was, it was worth it. My everyday keyboard is $150 Logitech, & the Red Dragon is still tolerable even if you're snobbish about gear. It's much better than I hoped for.
the program that comes from the website is a little confusing. Just make sure that "light" is UNCHECKED when you want to reprogram the keys or it wont let you reset the keys.
the keyboard only feels too large if you are using the big spacebar button. I reprogramed the "P" key to the space bar and find it much more comfortable.
Ty for this perfect review! I have big hands, game a lot and work as a software developer so getting the right gear is sometimes hard. I tought about buying one of these for a while and for games like guild wars 2 the 1-6 and F keys come in very handy. Also very nice that you mentioned the switches. I think I will go with browns as well. They are supposed to have the best sound and an ok feeling.
I got that same keypad some 2 years ago and had planned to use it to play Cyberpunk 2077. I got it for $20 but I was disappointed that it came with crappy blue switches. So I left it to collect dust for 2 years. 1 week ago, I decided to use it as a macro pad. I was surprised to learn that the switch is hotswappable. I replaced the blue switches with Akko jelly whites, modded the stabs, added PE foam - now it's so good!

What are the actuation forces and travel distances do both blue and brown switches have? I have a razer huntsman tournament edition with red switches that I bought recently, but it's way too sensitive for me to be honest. It has a 40-gram actuation force and a 1.0mm travel distance. I'm frequently ending up pressing the wrong keys even only with my finger's weight. I hate this keyboard so far :D So I thought it would be better if I move to a one-handed keyboard. Which one do you think would be better for me? The blue or the brown one? If you can answer me I would be appreciated, thank you.
just wondering how it would be while playing battlefield for example where you have to switch between the spacebar and C or X keys frequently, this looks like an unnecessary design of putting N and P keys where the spacebnar should be, perhaps not a big deal but i dont see whats the purpose of this design other than the looks of it.
My only issue with it is that it doesn't have raisers so my hands not raised enough for me I feel like I have to curve my wrist down instead of a straight line
