That is an emergency operation to help you get your car out of the bad location, the only thing you can do is to get new steering lock and reprogram it that is all
Hello boss man I have a Mercedes 2007 s550 The key is locked and it won’t turn to start position radio play and light on inside the but no light on the odometer
I paid £150 for AA to come just to do this I felt a cunt I thought the battery had died so I went and brought a new battery which cost £170 fitted it myself and car still didn’t start so then I rang AA he came out and literally done this and started it right away what a waste of money. I googled and CZcams it but nothing suggested the wheel was locked. I’ve had the car 3 years Mercedes a class and it’s never done this before so I was clueless but to put some light in the situation the AA guy tested my old battery and it failed the test so I was due a battery anyways. Live and you learn I guess 🤷🏽♂️

I took the steering wheel and turned it back and forth very quickly and this released the ELS and car started. I’ve done this several times now.
In some occasions when you turn like that and it doesn't release, you can follow this process

Check the fuse first or if you have a spare key you can try it, if is still not working you can get back to me
Still doesn’t unlock the column. Sure you can get it started but you can’t turn the wheel

What if the C300 uses emulator and not steering lock ,is this gonna work also

The car will start this way BUT the stern will be still locked. Going nowhere
You will need to remove the steering lock
