Oh my... I already more than happy that I live in a city that has *one* small, yet fairly encyclopedic store with more components & gizmos than I'll ever know what to do with. I can't even wrap my head around the fun I would have living next door to this palace....
I find your channel very useful, thank you (lovely voice). Over the past 3 years or so I have bought hundreds of electronic components from China through EBAY. I am not so fit these days and took up electronics as a hobby after a 51 year break. It has not been easy, but it is fun. I would like to thank all those in China for making my hobby possible. Such good value. It may be made to a tight budget but 99% of the time it does what I want. One or twice I have sent and received several messages from a buyer but I think EBAY perhaps stops that. Once again - thank you all. JP

In the 1980's Japan's Akihabara in Tokyo was like this. Miles and miles of electronic component and consumer electronics shops. Some of it is still there today, but the shops are owned by Chinese immigrants now. The focus in Akihabara has shifted more towards gaming, manga, and anime.

I think it’s an inefficient waste of space. How are you supposed to find the best item for the best price? It’s one big mess of random everything. On the internet you can find the right hardware by using filters and then sort the sellers by price.
Speaking from the ignorance, I bet those shops are also on the internet and you can check them, compare prices and then get there and pick your things, I guess. You'd probably need to read chinese for that, most certaintly. Also, may be you can barter if you go to the shop? I think I've seen that on the video, but I can't be sure. May be someone with authority could confirm this point :)
