I watched this movie when I was in the hospital with staph infection from a surgery, I think seeing the path Douglas goes down in this movie (hence Falling Down) helped me not be so upset at the world because through all the chaos and confusion he caused in the name of anger, his circumstances never changed. But the paranoia is about the city, about modernity, and about technology. The movie is a commentary on his malign perspective: his belief in a fallen world where everyone is broken and everything is overfilled. And through out he acts as if he is the only one confronted with struggle, perceiving everyone else as an affront to him, a means of his aggrievement. And through it all, as he piles bodies on bodies, believing that shooting the phone will teach a man patience, killing a rich man will cure the bias against him, etc. he fantasizes about a time before he completely alienated his wife with his own behavior. We have different readings of the film. I won’t tell you that yours is wrong. I just interpret it and it’s similarity to common libertarian fantasies as predictive.

I like how in almost all movies when someone shoots a loud RPG all the bystanders look at the explosion instead of trying to take down the guy holding an RPG thats already been fired and not reloaded.
I mean compared to guns RPGs seems so out of wack you could probably see it as a cosplay dud or fake object.
@@StateOfTheMind11225 ya but if you see an explosion and a dude holding an rpg pointing that same way you'd either run or fight or scream depending on the scenario ofc but some of these movies random pedestrians just look at the explosion like wow how did that happen? While the dude with the RPG stands there
The one he's using is disposable, so it's only good for one shot. Though, a massive explosion tends to attract a lot of attention.
