i reckon even a beginner can start doing minor climbs in PH muna for a year (Ulap, Rizal mountains, Pulag artista trail) before embarking on Kosciuszko next year winter noh?
Did you bother checking the weather forecast before you left? Did you let anyone know that you were heading off? Seems irresponsible to me and you were lucky that you got back in one piece without frostbite on your unprepared faces. A better walk on a calm, sunny day.
He had a guide so obviously people knew they were out and they had plenty of supplies. Also maybe he wanted to experience the mountain during winter instead of on a nice sunny day.
