    I cut a set of boggers to the cords between all lugs for my jeep to get them limber, tires never did fail.

    Hi there.I worked in a tire retreading plant back in the 80s.We had a small electric oven to keep knives hot and lugs were cut when hot.If your brave enough to experiment,you could maybe heat up the whole tire in a large oven(like a pizza oven) and use hot knives for cutting.just an idea,good luck.

    You could have twisted the wire a few strands and it would have had more strength and be able to hold more heat

    Watched your video on making strut spacers using pvc. Tried it couldn't get the small ass spring to compress far enough. Any ideas on homemade bracket lift? For 350 bruin 2x4

    Why not leave the sidewall tread like cut the top tread flat but leave sidewall piece sticking out since they don’t have much to begin with? Regardless amazing video and I subscribed and will share

    Have you tried using a blade in that hot knife like a smooth jig saw blade or razor blade and get it up to temp ?

    • @MudPuppyOffroad
      @MudPuppyOffroad  Před 4 lety

      Really send blades don't have the heat capacity. Nice for shaving dirt bike tires but not for cutting off big ATV nobbies

  • @johnpaulk994

    Maybe twisting a few pieces of that wire together with a drill they would hold up better and actually cut better but who knows

    I was scouring you page for this. Thanks for posting. How do they perform compared to outlaws/silverbacks after cutting?

    • @MudPuppyOffroad
      @MudPuppyOffroad  Před 4 lety +1

      They pull about is hard on the talon need to test on ATVs. They Ride like crap though and still pretty heavy compared outlaws

    I have a 1994 Honda 300 4x4 bone stock that I got out of a field and I want to make it capable to run 28” azteks, what’re some basic things that I need to do to accomplish this? I’m also planning on doing your snorkel with the pool tubing

    whats the reason behind doing this ?????

    • @AdamMalcolm96
      @AdamMalcolm96 Před 4 lety

      Save weight, and mud will clear itself out much easier. Just a little tuning to be more purpose specific

      Slower your idle

    • @HardcoreOutdoorsman
      @HardcoreOutdoorsman Před 4 lety

      It’s running about normal so I don’t think it’s that could it be something with clutch

    • @MudPuppyOffroad
      @MudPuppyOffroad  Před 4 lety

      Only thing that could cause that is the bushings inside your gear reduction going bad

    • @HardcoreOutdoorsman

    So what is the benefit of cutting mud tires?

    • @MudPuppyOffroad
      @MudPuppyOffroad  Před 4 lety

      Less weight more traction in thick mud

    • @jbw5485
      @jbw5485 Před 4 lety

      Less weight equals higher tire rpm. Easier on the engine to spin the tires while in thick nasty stuff. Plus they’ll clean out better with the extra spacing between the lugs
