  • Today it's a longer video, but I promise it's worth the while. I'm showing you, real time, step-by-step how to cover an old book in fabric. There are not many things that you need. If you are a journaler you probably have most of it already in your stash. Come join me, give it a try.

    So nice to watch a tutorial like this, thank you.
    I did remember how to cover a book with plastic or book paper from when I was a student long, long time ago but I never covered one in fabric.
    I think this is very helpful for many crafty people 🥰
    Have a nice crafty week

    Thank you Maureen for this video. My first attempt before I looked at CZcams turned out ok apart from my back corners. I'll pop some metal corners on the cover to 'cover' my error up LOL! Next time I must try the method you show here.Fiddly but definitely does produce a nice result.

      😘👍 I have used the metal corners too, a lot. Hope you'll give this method a try 😘 thanks for stopping by

    Maureen, When I first started making journals I tried to make a fabric covered journal and it went terribly... and I haven't tried it since. Your video inspired me to try it again!!! I think If I do it step by step with you that I'll be successful this time. I'll keep you posted. Thank you for posting this tutoriall, it is very informative and good to see each step.

    A popsicle stick would work to push down the fabric at the top and bottom of the spine🙂

    Do you have a video of how you embellished the pages of this book? Did you remove any of the pages?? I love the way you covered it with fabric ❤️

    • @MaureenAstrid
      @MaureenAstrid  Před rokem +1

      No I don't have a video on that, sorry. Yes, I removed all of the pages - the whole textblock - and replaced it with my own pages that I embellished. I have a reel on IG if you'd like to see the making of that instagram.com/p/CiPZxI8oir8/ and a flip through.
