@@skycelium1 At 91! Got the one in California last year. My plans are finishing up Georgia and parts of Alabama this year. (Wedding and honeymoon taken all my money this year)🙄 Then get the schools in lower Alabama, 3 in Louisiana, Mississippi valley State, one in Michigan and the 2 in Missouri. Vacation in the Virgin Islands to get that school. Hopefully I will be done by next year... Hopefully! 😂
That’s amazing!! I’m sure you’re done now. What were the best takeaways from this experience? I’d loveeee to hear the things you learned. Grambling alumni here🖤💛
@@dontcarebear3227 unfortunately I still have more to go I didn't get any in 2022. And that set me back a lil. I got The ones in Oklahoma and California last year. I have to finish Georgia Alabama Mississippi the three in Louisiana, Michigan and the two in Missouri. Oh and I got to get the one in the Virgin Islands. The experience has been unbelievable I have learned so much. Ex: St Phillips (San Antonio Texas) 2-year HBCU community college. It was crazy to learn that they have more students than your alumni Grambling which is a 4-year institution. And just like your school a lot of campus is in the middle of nowhere but beautiful!
There should be a part II, "The DarkWarrior Perspective" you missed at least 25 or more. But you have done a good presentation. Thank you! Look into Voorhees College, founded in 1897 by Elizabeth Wright. She graduated from Tuskegee Institute and was commissioned by the Tuskegee College president Booker T. Washington and his wife to start a College in South Carolina.
Wish I would’ve known more about hbcu growing up as a athlete because nowadays coaches only recommend the big pwi schools glad I went to a hbcu I felt welcomed and it felt like home great experience.
Where's Albany? Literally founded by a black northerner who founded the school the same year souls of black folk was published. It inspired him to start the school.
So, we were African-Americans in the early 1800s? No. We were the American Indians aka Aborigines aka Copper Colored people. Forts, plantations, Indian schools became HBCUs. More plausible than descendants of indigenous people to this land being labeled as " Africans " before the Congress driven reconstruction Era began.

I’m sure all of the HBCU’s were a first at something. However, Cheyney University was the first HBCU.
Nope it was Lincoln university

more than 1,000 black schools were built and over four hundredthousand dollars....??????
Did you make that up?

Avery was the 1st HBCU; however, it was not successful. Cheyney was the 2nd.
