This part isn’t just the most iconic scene in Mario Odyssey or even the franchise, but in video game history. New Donk City felt like a New Years celebration from start to finish.

Some of the dance, she mimics the 2-frame animation she does in the Donkey Kong arcade game, where she's hopping on her left, then right foot, and repeats. During that section of the music, the 25M stage music from DK plays in the background.

This is easily one of my favorite moments in any video game. It brought tears to my eyes and it was such a beautiful experience. Super Mario Odyssey is a masterpiece!
Having never gotten this far in Odyssey I always figured this was some bonus secret obtained after finding a certain amount of stars. I was overwhelmed and emotional when I actually finally did get to this part to learn that it was a natural progression through the story.
When the trailer that featured "Jump Up Super Star" first came out, I'm not afraid to say that I was watering my eyes like crazy. This was a perfect game!!
An ode to the past, a taste of the future, and a thank you for the present. What a treat this game and scene was. But reading the comments, I am happy to hear I wasn’t the only one feeling all the joys and love this scene encoded
Man this whole segment brings back so much nostalgia from the early 2017 switch era. I remember being amazed at the switches hardware and the innovation in which were the joy-cons. Mario Odyssey lives in my heart as the best Mario and switch game. it’s crazy to think this was 5 years ago.
Never gets ancient to have one of the least appearing main chars like Mario's original girlfriend(aside from Mario vs DK series), to be a greater worldwide hit, with an iconic song and high ranking position!
Going through this that very first time was so completely mind-blowing. Made me feel like a kid again, which Nintendo does better than absolutely anything/anyone, anywhere. Then the 8 bit stuff totally sealed the deal. What a masterpiece.

One of the coolest "feel-good" moments in any video game franchise, ever.
To this day, this is one of the best scenes I’ve ever seen
i have watched this for 3 hours now still not bored
This is easily one of my favorite moments in any video game. It brought tears to my eyes and it was such a beautiful experience. Super Mario Odyssey is a masterpiece!
Mr.Iwata would’ve proud of em if he were still alive
I had to like to make it 69 ;)
He was a good man😞
I really do think he would have been proud to see this festival
I enjoy that Mario’s toe-tapping animation speeds up/slows down to catch up and line up with the beat of the song.
I cried too. lol
AGREE TOTALLY
It was amazing. Finally, a promising 3D mario game, no more of that 3d land and 3d world stuff, a true 3D mario game! And better than ever!
Same man
This segment always puts me on the edge of shedding tears.
The nostalgia can hit us gamers so hard.
An ode to the past, a taste of the future, and a thank you for the present. What a treat this game and scene was. I remember dancing the entire time playing this part and my friends couldn’t understand why I was dancing and celebrating with joy. Neither could I. But reading the comments, I am happy to hear I wasn’t the only one feeling all the joys and love this scene encoded
4:40 Come On Mario, You have more moves than that. I played DDR mario Mix.
i love how Mario and his voice actor Charles Martinet grew together. a relationship no one can overcome.
Joystikz_ she sings a part of the song in japanese
Roberto Smith SHE?
Kate Higgins = Pauline
I like how at the end mario is legit on 1 heart
The best scene and song in all video game history!
Smile and tears .... its only a got to say! 30 years of history and happiness thanks nintendo!

Pauline, the Jessica Rabbit of Modern Mario
sadlobster1 hahahaha true...
She is also Betty Boop of the Gaming World.
I knew. I JUST KNEW IT PAULINE LOOKED LIKE Jessica rabbit. Well if you watched Roger Rabbit
Mario is Eddie Valiant, Toad is Roger Rabbit, Yoshi is Benny The Car, and Bowser is Judge Doom. XD
She's not bad. She's modeled that way.
Man this whole segment brings back so much nostalgia from the early 2017 switch era. I remember being amazed at the switches hardware and the innovation in which were the joy-cons. Mario Odyssey lives in my heart as the best Mario and switch game. it’s crazy to think this was 5 years ago.
god what a way to celebrate the history of mario

Never gets ancient to have one of the least appearing main chars like Mario's original girlfriend(aside from Mario vs DK series), to be a greater worldwide hit, with an iconic song and high ranking position!
This is such an amazing celebration of Mario’s history as the face of video games. I’m still blown away by it years later.
You know you're in some fine corruption scheme when the mayor asks you to "grab coins with me oh yeah"
Epic corruption
Lol 😂
Going through this that very first time was so completely mind-blowing. Made me feel like a kid again, which Nintendo does better than absolutely anything/anyone, anywhere. Then the 8 bit stuff totally sealed the deal. What a masterpiece.
As a person who was a part of jazz band and a person who likes gaming. This is literally amazing. The groove of this song is everything.
Pauline, the original character Mario rescues back in 1981, that game was a gem, so is this one.
Donkey Kong
I've played
Pauline is one of my favourite characters ❤❤❤
I feel nostalgic. I have a Wiiu and then the switch and the time from 2014 to 2018 was so great! Thanks Nintendo, Mario and FIFA. I have all FIFAs from this period and so much Mario games. My favourite games are Super Mario Bros U and Mario 3D world. This games I have played with my best friends in my house
This moment remenber us how Mario is one the greatest and game character ever , and this game, probably the best Mario game actually !
I remember this level. It makes me feel something. It’s nostalgic and modern! A real spectacle of what video games can do!
Hands down one of the most amazing moments in gaming history. I'm crying tears of joy while playing this level.
