There are two different characters with the same rank, both being officers in the British army. The one who fought in the Second World War is called Jack Price and the one in MW John Price! 3. Cpt Price (Jack Price) was NOT captured from the Tripitz ship and then rescued by the Americans as others say! Cpt Jack Pirce died on 27th October 1944 on the battleship Tripitz in a German officer's (admiral) uniform. He being captured by the Germans after the battle of June 6, 1944 Benouville, France! He was rescued by Americans in the mountains of Bavaria, Germany on August 7, 1944. After being rescued by Americans on August 7, 1944, while in Germany, he was assigned to Eder Dam, Germany on September 2, 1944 to save Evans from the German counter attack. Cpt Price then received the mission to destroy communications on the Tripitz on 25 October 1944 and on 27 October 1944 he died. Stg Evans escaped from the battleship Tripitz because he was very hard to spot due to his German officer's uniform so he didn't meet many German enemies on the ship and Stg Waters, the Germans didn't know there was anyone else on that boat, Cpt Price and told Waters to stay in the boat.
