My favorite is the banned Gengar from Gym Challenge 2. I think it's awesome that he's just in front of a cemetery smiling like a boss. Only card i have graded in a PSA 10, 9, and 1 lol
The only card I have left from my childhood collection is the banned Koga’s Ninja Trick! For some reason my father put it in his saftey deposit box and forgot about it. Now it’s sitting in my PC display at home..I know it’s not worth very much but the nostalgia and history behind it and how it was obtained and the fact that it was saved but forgotten about it’s unbelievable
That one is way more infamous than this one.

7:42 I agree with you man, whenever I see Tentacool I think about a great period of time in my childhood when Pokémon was bussing everywhere, Toys R US, cable TV, and I just had some many Tentacool cards which is still a cool card to me to this day.

Koga's Ninja Trick is one of the other well-known banned art cards for having a Buddhist manji on the card's art.

Wish I had the chance to relive this era during my childhood, absolutely love seeing these old packs being opened!
Watching videos like this take me back to when Pokémon cards first came out. Wish I knew then what I know now about how popular and valuable Pokemon would become all these years later.
Some of the old school banned cards are absolutely wild.

@@Georgiaplains There was worse stuff on cable TV in the 90's man. This was definitely a weird unnecessary thing IMO. Probably someone at the commerce department that thought "pocket monsters" were demons lol.
I remember in my primary school Pokemon Cards were banned because they were "Pocket Monsters" and people legit thought they were demonic. Meanwhile, Yu-Gi-Oh cards were not banned, and had actual occult like cards.

@@deathroll69 Yu gi oh was definitely banned and majority of the cards were change dark magician was supposed to be black magician and monster reborn , spell binding circle etc all were change because of religious beliefs

Loved gym heroes growing up. Even not in English it's super nostalgic
Gym challenge and hero’s was always my favorite. I honestly love the trainer in the bottom corner. Makes the basic Pokémon feel a lil more personality seeing it’s owned by a trainer.

these cards are in such a good shape and that nostalgic factor of seeing these artworks after so many years gives me chills! the dragonair looks so amazing, especially because i always prefered the dragonite line the most! someday i'll have that one in my binder for sure!

I actually have the Misty banned card that I had gotten from opening a pack from back in the day when they weren't considered vintage.
My coworker gave me a box of vintage bulk. Among everything was one opened apanese pack of cards and the banned misty was there i couldnt belive it. Good condish too!
