yea hers was the most bizarre cause robots usually fail in cold temperatures and the fact she was chopped
I think there was an explanation for it. It has to do with making the cyborgs being able to survive just about anything. Even if their bodies are completely destroyed. Their consciousness will remain intact for quite sometime. It's for the event that it can be transferred by someone if they get there fast enough.
That's what I got from some other commenter years ago though so it could have just been his headcanon as to why they are all able to talk for so long after being chopped to literal pieces.

Yacine It’s cause the main cause of Mgs3 is that everyone was searching for the Philosophers Legacy, a massive slush fund with millions upon millions of dollars stored away by the Philosophers, a group of people who banded together after WWI to try and prevent such tragedies from happening again. But the successors of the Philosophers misplaced the Philosophers Legacy and it ended up being stolen by Volgin. Whoever got the Philosophers Legacy would essentially have enough money to do whatever they want, which is essentially what happened since(Spoilers!) Revolver Ocelot ended up stealing the Legacy from Volgin and delivering it to the protags of Mgs3(Big Boss, Major Tom etc,) who ended up using the money to found the Patriots which eventually grew to control large parts of the world.

Mistral was my favourite boss. The music, her character/trash talking and how you get to finish her off. It was a perfect introduction to the game.
+DAVID HALL Sam was a pain in the ass for me. Blade Wolf, Mistral, and both of the Metal Gears were easy. Monsoon was easy once I figured out all his moves; Armstrong was as hard as cancer to beat.
Trick to blade wolf is using blade mode, should give you enough time to lower his health for him to trigger the enemies coming, then use them to heal yourself. Armstrong, even knowing what to do was a pain in the ass lol. i still don't know how i beat Monsoon lel

For how odd she is, the fact that massive amphibious robots invaded a city only to be cut to pieces by a fucking cyborg with a katana, and the fact that some people with actual superpowers died to one well trained soldier, makes her seem very normal.

the reaction to both of these deaths didnt vary that much for most people
I like this song because it hits both Raidens' perspectives, and Mistrals.
Raidens background is about being a stranger, fighting wars for the sake of finding himself especially after MGS4 and beginning of MGR(Raiden crossing the unforgiving seas, drifting further and further into Jack the Ripper)
The song title is interesting, as Mistral and Raiden seem to have an idea of how the other had grown up and turned into cyborg killers. Mistral picked up on this and we know Raiden picked up on it after being told. She seemed to love Raiden and who he was, knowing they cut a similar cloth, but knew in this conflict; this would not be a battlefield love due to his insistence on defending the weak, Mistral then returns to what she feels she is: A stranger; and Raiden after her passing, is the stranger that remains.

- Her weapon is called "L'étranger" which is a reference to a novel written by French-Algerian author Albert Camus of the same name. The book tells the story of an Algerian man who basically lives by his own sets of rules (the author is a huge representative of the nihilism movement). Not only does the context matches with Mistral's origins, but the whole idea of having free will is the main theme of this game.
- Her name "Mistral" is the name given to the wind blowing from the North towards the South in southern France. It basically blows from France towards Algeria.
camus was not a nihilist. we must imagine sisyphus happy. he recognized that existence is meaningless but advocated we live joyously despite that.
note: it's not "a place where i can be without remorse," it's "a place where i can Be, without remorse." a place where i can exist, remorselessly, without shame or fear or any need for higher purpose -- probably the key theme of the whole game is that warfare is an autonomous machine, like a metal gear, that transcends human agency, which is what monsoon is getting at with memes. humans don't fight wars; ideas fight wars. humans are the terrain that ideas are fighting to control.
armstrong is seeking an end to that paradigm, for every man to fight his own war. to Be, without remorse. to reach heaven by violence. and that's what mistral was looking for.

I love this game. Great gameplay that focuses not only on power fantasies, but instead on some actual skill concerning the bosses and larger enemies. Bosses with personalities and interesting ideals and motivations, AMAZING MUSIC, and some damn fine battle sequences that keep you on the edge of your seat. The one thing it is missing...

One of the most sickest OST soundtracks in gaming history is easily this game. Every song just smacks and delivers despite short lyrical choruses. Music also suits the game and every boss incredibly well. Metal Gear Rising OST is definitely my top 3 best gaming soundtracks.

Well, he was probably "Rising" and takin' "Revengeance" to Konami.
Ok, So after beating her on Revengence mode I gotta say I loved fighting her. She's not as much fun to fight straight up but this song is by far my favorite in the game followed by The Strains of time and of course Moonsoons fight is ultimately more satisfying to finally get a no-hit on but Mistrals fight is just epic and a straight up brawl where Monsoons throws crazy shit at you.I can recall when I first got my no-Hit in this fight I literally jumped out of my seat and shout FUCK YEAH BITCH!, and damn near punched my monitor from the pure intensitythat this song+fight induced. Being 37 this year it's been a LONG time since I got that pumped over anything!

For what you said about Monsoon I kinda didnt like his fight. Yes the mechanics were great but it lacked the personality that the others gave because you had buildup with the others. Though with Monsoon you just finish a giant slice of Psychological Warfare pie given to you by Sam and BAM he appears and we know nothing about him. The boss was fun but the presentation to me was weak.
