Everytime I hear a new influencer talking about their “process” you can clearly see they have NO idea about the chemistry or science behind it. The lab sends them samples and they approve. What I have always loved about Lisa is how she studies makeup down to the atomic level. As a scientist myself, I love and appreciate her scientific approach to creating a truly unique product.
Agree. They have no idea. Rookies and not informed. Sadly people, claiming to be "artists" haven't the professionalism to research, test and deep dive before making a knee jerk first impression.
And when you hear them talking they worked at the formula for YEARS😂. And then there comes Lisa!

I can’t get over no marketing department or team , I’ve often looked at the advertising on insta and you tube and thought “she’s got a great Marketing team there, great with the teasing” … so surprised to hear no official team. Who ever does it, hats off!!!

In a world of influencers and celebs launching a brand every day, THIS right here is the only brand I will buy from. Most of the celebs and influencers are using their name to sell their makeup products/brands. But with Lisa you just know you are not paying for the brand. I am so happy to find you today, I live in Singapore but I am traveling to the State next week, is there a way to order to shade / sample card, cos I have problem in getting the right shades each time, and with combination skin in humid country, I have problem keeping the make-up fresh and don’t turn grey, orange or 2-3 shades darker just after an hour? I am super excited to hear your journey and your passion in finding a solution for a problem exists for the longest time, congratulations, I believe this is going to be a huge success!

I am so happy that I can actually try the different shades from the sample cards first to enable me to find my correct shade. Foundation buying for me usually is total hell and I have a drawer which I call my ‘foundation graveyard’ full of expensive disasters. Thank you for even thinking about this.
@@LisaEldridge hi lisa! i was wondering if you would consider doing an extension of olive shades especially for really pale olive shades? there's very few brands that do olive shades and when i tried the lightest set i adored the texture of the foundations but it was a little too pink (for 1 + 2) or orange (3 + 4) for my olive undertone.
i know most people who have olive undertones are medium to darker and most people who are pale are pink/neutral so it is kinda tricky having a rarer undertone but reading other people's discussions in reddits like olivemua i really think there's a gap in the market that would be perfect for you to fill since i feel like thats been part of your business ethos, particularly with the range of deep shades in this launch
@@msmalice6007 i have the same problem, so glad i'm not the only one :) 1 and 2 are too pink for me and 4 is too orange, going with the 3 cos it is at least not pink and looks a bit better than others, though it is still a bit too yellow. i'm so loving this foundation, that i'll give a 3 one a try until hopefully, there will come less pink more olive pale shades in the future :)
Lisa, It's such a pleasure to listen to you explain the "geeky" side of product formulation! I felt like I was in the lab with you like a mad little scientist! For those of us who have been watching for years, its like seeing a friend succeed at what she does best. Congratulations!! And the bottle design is so exquisite, truly a work of art! And how wonderful it is to flip through the photos of all the different models in all their unique and diverse glory...such an exciting launch!!

🥰🤗How we could get your cosmetics in Canada? I am not able to travel to UK at the moment 😕 I have so many of your lip sticks and I feel the foundation would be fabulous.
I have now tested the foundation for about 10 days, in all kinds of weather, with the mask, rubbing my face with frustration, having 10+hr work days and with acne scars, aging skin that is now a bit dry (winter is coming) and I think I have never been this happy with how my skin looks. I learned from you 10+ years ago about Bourjois Healthy Mix #52 and now I'll be ordering Seamless in #11. Thank you for making this foundation!
I'm also using the Bourjois in 52 because it's the lightest shade in my country, but I could go a shade lighter. I thought one of first four Lisa's shades would be adequate, but now I think I have to revisit shades 😄 So excited!
Me too! I followed her advise and used healthy mix #53. I got the sample cards and 11 and 10 are a great match! However, I found the foundation still caked around my nose, upper lip and chin, and stuck on dry skin forming patches 🥺. I want to love this foundation so much!!! I apply before my usual rich moisturiser so not sure what else to do… and it’s not me applying too much, with one blister I had enough for three days…😢😢😭
@@marinasanchezmoran5571 Oh no, I feel your pain. I have dry patches and I've used small amounts of face oil and the foundation has been great. Hopefully Lisa's future foundation inventions are more suitable for you!
Healthy mix 51 from Lisa’s advice many moons ago!
Yep shade 51 for me and after using testers I found even that was too dark for me, I’ve thrown out my foundation and am using shade 7. Looks awesome.
I can't thank you enough for going as light as you did with shade 1! I got the sample card not really expecting any of the lightest shades to work for me (I have albinism so it's always been a challenge) and I was blown away by the match!
This is so amazing to hear.
I also saw someone say comment she *never* finds a foundation deep enough, but she had a choice of 2 - 3 in this range.

I have sensitive skin too and it doesn’t react well to silicone. I knew that this product would have it because pretty much all non clean beauty brands have silicone. I can’t have this 😭

I agree 100%. It was great to be able to test the product and the shades and how it works with my skin type. And the quality did not disappoint. I feel like it just smooths my skin and hides my pores and the effect is still very natural. I need to get this

I went to the pop up studio yesterday with my friend, and we had the most wonderful time. The staff were all just lovely, the very first shade that the assistant picked for me was an exact match, and I nearly cried when I got to see THE Audrey lipstick on display, as well as the joyous displays of Lisa’s vintage make up and the stunning make up areas with the backdrops I have seen on so many of the videos.
Thank you so much Lisa for not only giving us the dream products but also making the whole experience something that will always be such a lovely memory of a real adventure for me and my friend.

You had me at "real neutral". I don't know why it's such a hard concept for other companies to get that I'm not neutral pink or neutral yellow, I'm neutral. I don't want to be pink or orange. I just want my own skin tone.
Well, you know that neutral undertones are also green or gray.
Also remember that undertones are a wash of a color, not so much a strong color.

Hello. 🙂 I wanted to ask about shade 9. To me it looks quite dark in photos. My current “best” match is either Armani Luminous Silk no.2 or NYX Bare with me in Vanilla Nude. Maybe you could comment, if its close to these shades in “lightness” if you have tried them? 🙂 For some reason I did not order shade 9 to try. 😄🤦♀️ Thank you 👍🏻

@@carriecate4751 shade 9 would be my best match and I wear a mixture of the luminous in 5 & 5.2 so I would say based on that, 9 would be too dark for you if you wear luminous #2

@@carriecate4751 I would recommend to get the sample as soon as it’s restocked as the shades are a little deceiving in photos and even inside the sample card. I also thought by the look of the model that I was shade 9 then I tried it and is far to light for me. Last night I ordered two more cards: light medium set 2 from where I think I’m going to find my match and medium set 1 just in case, they thankfully were still in stock.
I cried when I saw a hijabi woman representing your brand and modeling your amazing products . Thank you so much for making me feel like I’m seen, and that I’m also a part of this wonderful beauty movement, thank you so so so much for recognizing my womanhood, simply .
As a minority myself these comments always take me aback, company's that use Hijabi women, or actually even any underrepresented group to promote their product are really just doing it because they *know it works* and *sells*, not necessarily bc they want to fix the lack of representation.
I suppose these comments show just how effective it is..

Being Romanian I am blown away by the foundation station in the store and the shape of the foundation bottle and how it can sit on its side much like the Sleeping Muse by Brancusi and to hear it from you was just wow. They are outstanding! Was thinking how Romanian brands should take notes from you when it comes to branding, formulating, packaging and so much more. I love that about you, how dedicated you are and nerdy.

A bottle that sits on an angle is kind of genius. When we pump foundation out, we tilt the bottle on its side.
Never thought about it like that .., that lil detail is what makes Lisa so great .
As an artist I SO appreciated how you broke down the color theory. It always confounds me how many cosmetics clients I talk to who don’t understand that pink is just muted red 😂 So many cosmetics brands these days label things as “warm” or “cool” with no rhyme or reason whatsoever.

Lisa! I ordered your foundation and it arrived yesterday. It’s Day 2 that I’m wearing it and let me say Thank You! Lots of foundations (I’ve tried ALL of them) are marketed as “skin-like” or “natural” and to my observant eye, none of them ever really are. It’s important that my foundation is undetectable and truly skin-like. Your foundation is the only one that has ever met this standard! It’s absolutely beautiful! Hands down my favorite foundation EVER! After 20 years of trying different foundations, I’ve finally found my Holy Grail! I’m SO excited!!

I felt so grateful I could fly over to visit the pop up shop. I was blown away by the attention to every detail. The foundation is like no other! It’s a magical youth elixir! It makes me look poreless and lasts sooo well while looking like nude skin. Also the shade range and ingenious sample cards mean you will find the most perfect colour match. Olive undertones!!!! I can’t thank you enough! Being of south asian ethnicity, I can’t tell you how many times I have been “matched” on the assumption I have a warm/yellow undertone and growing up, being naive and not confident enough/trusting the assistants who I thought would be knowledgeable enough, I’ve always struggled to find the perfect match. I’ve always looked too yellow or too orange and only in the last few years have I realised I have a olive undertone. It’s great to have this option for us olive under-toned skin folks!
In my minds eye I see your display cabinet of Iconic makeup and brands from the past, and feel very strongly that in the future, your name will be among them. I can't believe it took me this long to realize Lisa Eldridge has a makeup line. She has taught me all the basics of makeup ever since I was in high school, and thanks to her, I grew up really understanding how to apply makeup so that it's not overdone.
A year of use and I can say this is the best foundation and best colour I have EVER used! Lisa thank you for blessing us with such an amazing product that works. I was thrilled to buy this for my wedding day, I did my own makeup and it looked stunning throughout the day. I’d recommend this anyone and everyone x

I have never tried an olive shade that’s so spot on for me ( shade 9). Usually I need to mix foundations to get my shade as lighter olive shades basically do not exist. The texture is also very beautiful. The sample lasted two applications for me, and my skin just looked perfected each time. Can’t wait for the launch and thank you for creating such a beautiful foundation!

I remember when I first "discovered" you and subscribed to your channel over 10 years ago and thought: "How is it possible that this woman, a true and sooo talented make up artist, does not get more subscribers here, her videos are so helpful and informative and she is so honest!" :) Your make up collection is stunning and it is so "you", so true to yourself, which I guess must have been the biggest challenge... I can't wait!!!! I'm so excited. 3 out of the 4 samples work perfectly. That has never happened before. Afro-American complexions are so complicated in texture and tone. I usually have to mix two bases to get it right. Or tone it down in some way. Can't wait for you to release concealers.

Totally agree with you as a light to medium olive toned gal. Olive can be a very weird skin color to match haha. There is only one other company that makes good olive shades and they start at a darker shade. Im So excited!
@@pappyone6062 I just wrote on a comment above: I'm light-medium with olive undertones (Estee Lauder 2W2 Rattan, with MAC NC30 being a good second choice) and shade No. 16 in Lisa's Seamless Foundation is PEEEEEEEERFECT! I applied with my fingers, 1 thin layer all over, and a second layer over my cheeks and forehead--where I have melasma--and using it this way, the sample was enough for 3 applications. I'm saving to get a full bottle. It'll be a gift to myself. (BTW, I've had good luck with Dior Face and Body. It has great choices for lighter skin with olive undertones. Try shades 2WO, 2.5N, and 3WO. Those are my "summer", "winter", and "summer after sailing" shades.)
@@irairod5160 hey me too! I haven’t opened the card yet but I put my dior 2wo next to it and it was identical. I a, also the dior 3wo in the summer. My skin can’t help tanning, lol.I can’t wait to try it! Yes definitely gift it to yourself! I use the dior concealer to spot conceal as I don’t like all over foundation but I haven’t used anything else since discovering the dior warm colors. Thanks so much for the other recommendations as well amd for being sweet enough to try to help me out!

Girl Pro.Color Foundation Mixing Pigment" in "Blue" is an excellent way to shift an "almost there but too golden" foundation toward the olive side. This is how I make my drugstore foundations work for me! (I hope you love Lisa's foundation!)

I nodded my head like a lunatic when you started talking about people ordering the first sample card because they are usually the lightest in other brands. That is exactly what I did but according to your foundation matcher I'd either be a 7 or 9. So I then contacted your customer support and they said they think a 7 would be best suited to me (so sample card 2). I'm a NC15 in MAC, 1W1 Bone in Estee Lauder.
I came out as a 7 with the sample card and I nearly always take the 2nd lightest in any other range.
I'm a nc15 and matched to 4. Seven seems dark to me.
I ended up ordering the second lightest card for comparison.
7 is a good match for my nc15/nc20 skin as it's nice and neutral!
So excited about this launch! Have been obsessed since trying the sample card-such a beautiful formula!

I really love that you've made the foundation so accessible with the sample cards. I always have a really hard time shade matching and this has made it so much easier. The formula is truly amazing and long lasting. I put it on today at around 6am before work, wore a mask on and off, and it's now almost 11pm and it still looks stunning.

I have fair olive skin and struggle SO much with finding shade matches, they just don’t seem exist! I need something more grey/green, most foundations are always too yellow, pink, peach.

Lisa, as a true olive I’ve struggled to find a true shade match and over time have had to combine colors to make foundation colors work for me. Your foundation and the undertones were perfect for my olive tone and I was so so happy at how well it matched!! I am in love with the formula as well! Thank you!

The foundation is what it really says. Seamless Skin. Thank you for allowing us to try it first and giving us options to choose from. It’s going to be a bridal favourite in my kit. It gives a very natural seamless finish. Very skin like. And hardly transfers even without setting in with powder.

I’m 53 & I cannot wait to try your base products together, especially the foundation; as so many foundations do not wear nicely on mature skin. I can’t wait to demo & review your products! It’s quite unfortunate that so many brands tend to disregard women my age, not only because we are a major source of the income for brands (purchasing for ourselves, friends, family, etc. and refers g people to products), but many brands fail to see the resource women my age are because we have decades of working with products, many of my younger viewers have told me they seek my opinion because elf my experience. It is my hope that more brands will expand their thinking in regards to age and how it applies in the industry & start including mature women more, as we have much to offer.

Lisa, I just want to say that your foundation is the first foundation that genuinely worked for me, and it's the most unique foundation that I've ever tried. Having very pale and sensitive skin, I've tried so many foundations, running the gamut from drugstore to luxury. Not only it's been very hard to find the right shade, but very often the texture and finish wasn't really something that worked for me, or it didn't sit right with any other product on my face. Your lovely team helped me with getting a shade match and I have not looked back since. Thank you for continuing to be an inspiration all these years. Much love.
As an olive toned person, I think this foundation is really good! I tried my sample card and it’s the FIRST time a foundation matched me + it was COMFORTABLE! 🥺 This might just be the foundation that gets me to stop hating foundation. Great work, Lisa and the whole team 👏🤗

There is something so special about Lisa Eldridge launches. The excitement feels beyond anything I feel for any other brand launch at the moment and I think it’s because it feels so personalized. I feel the love and incredibly hard work and detail poured into even product I’ve tried and it almost feels like I’m purchasing artwork. I was financially unable to make a purchase during the most recent launch, which was so upsetting, so I haven’t tried the samples yet, but I’m pretty sure I would have chosen the wrong set anyway. I think I’m going to try picking a shade to the best of my ability and we will see what happens. I certainly feel as though I have a much better chance of picking a good shade for myself after watching this video.

I’d strongly suggest getting the samples first. I way way off what I thought I’d be, since Lisa includes different tones for each hue. Worth waiting for, while saving you a costly mistake. X

In regards to the bottle, the first time I saw it I thought it’s such a bold move with the shape but the inspiration is absolutely obviously to anyone who has been watching your channel for a long time. Re. the shade range exactly what I noticed! I got the sample card number one as even the lightest shades in common brands are always a bit dark for me. I was surprised to have failed to find my match within shades 1-4, all were a touch light for me. Thank god I am in London and I was able to get colour matched in the pop up store (while also being able to tell Lisa how I admired her in person, which is even more important than colour matching as you all may know). Turns out I am a five (close enough to the sample card one!) and it is such a perfect shade for me! I got some compliments the first night I wore this foundation and I am now such a happy person, what a godsend this foundation is! Thank you, Lisa , as I said in the store, for sharing your art and for the inspiration through the years, and for creating all the miracle products now 💗
