- Learning a card pass is a right of passage for a card magician. It's considered one of the hardest traditional card moves to learn and has a thousand applications. I've been working on about a dozen different variations on a card pass since I was 11 and the thing I've found is that they are consistently difficult to learn and require a sense of timing.
I submit that the pass you'll learn in this video is far easier than anything you've looked at before and that you will probably be able to perform it right after watching this video.

I like it; going to have to work on grabbing only the bottom half and nothing from the bottom of the top half. BUT - is it supposed to look like a cut, or be invisible and just look like a squaring action?
Like a squaring action. It’s not a perfectly invisible move or anything but if done in the off beat (like a normal pass) there’s a clear justification for the hand movement.

It's not a pass. You are just cutting openly. A pass is invisible.

Yea but it is invisible to a lay person because it really only looks like the deck is being spun but it’s a cut that is covered by movement just like the pass. The classic pass isn’t invisible until you add movement and when you break it down it’s a cut covered by movement so I’d say this could be considered a variation of a pass and it’s pretty good too if you can use presentation to justify spinning the cards around
