Last season we needed a LB when LVE got injured and we didn’t go get one. Same thing the year before with WR. How are we ever going to even get to the NFC Championship game if the GM isn’t willing to make in season adjustments?

    The difference between this Cowboys team and the 1992 team (and any NFL team with an actual chance to win a SB) is LEADERSHIP and CULTURE!!!! Perhaps Jimmy gets more than his due credit for the Cowboys 90's success but there is NO doubt Jimmy was the leader and Jimmy set the culture of win at all cost, no BS, and my way or the highway. In addition they had the unquestionable leadership of Aikman, Emmitt and Irvin. There have not been many, if any, players with anywhere near the leadership qualities of the triplets since then. You watch the sidelines of a Cowboys game now when they are loosing and it looks like they are at a wake. Losing doesn't even seem to bother them. It's always the 'learn from it and move on' BS press conference from Dak and Mike and Jerry when they loose but unfortunately they always move on but they never learn from it. The current culture of this team is Jerry. Flash over substance. As long as people are talking about us we are happy. Paychecks and social media hits are more important than wins now. Not that 1990's players didn't want every $ they deserved but winning seem just as important if not more important to them. McCarthy might be a pretty good coach but he has ZERO +ve impact on the culture of this team. Since Jimmy left we've seen what the 'flash is more important than substance' culture of Jerry Jones has brought and until the culture of this team changes I don't care how good the roster gets they will not win another SB

    Know you don't have no triplets right now but when Tony Romo was leading the Dallas Cowboys and you had Dez Bryant and DeMarco Murray they was what you could call the next triplets when they was leading the Dallas Cowboys with Jason Witten as the next Jay Novacek and Terrance Williams as being the second wide receiving as Alvin Harper back then when it was all on the Dallas Cowboys because they could have won a Super Bowl championship I don't see this group of Dallas Cowboys winning a Super Bowl championship because they don't have the attitude or the heart to try to win one like Tony Romo and Dez Bryant and Jason Witten did.

    Fish, I respect you, but this is some Dallas Texas sports journalist jibba jabba that you are peddling. It was evident at the end of the 1991 season that the Cowboys would be real contenders (if not favorites) heading into 1992. I remember watching the Bills/Redskins Super Bowl and telling everyone at the party "Cowboys will be in this game next year., mark my words." They were just so hungry. They beat the Eagles and Redskins on the road late in 1991, and then beat the Bears in Chicago in the playoffs, physically beating Neal Anderson to the point that he lost his will to win (see his weak 4th qtr attempts near the goalline). Anybody who was paying attention knew that they were only going to get better. Fish, you know I'm right. You're the man. Love what you do, love the energy and consistency.

Problem was that the media wasn’t much interested in the financial side only the football side so Jimmy was getting ALL the attention and Jerry being the attention whore that he is didn’t like it ! So exit Jimmy cause it “Wasn’t fun anymore .” ( I guess not dealing with Jerrah and his nonsense. ) 1 more by Switzer with essentially Jimmy’s team. • @andredarin8966
    @andredarin8966 Před měsícem

    No. Jerry and Jimmy prospered despite galactic stupidity and once-in-a generation good luck.
    Exhibit A: At the end of the 1988 season Dallas and Green Bay were in the hunt for the first pick in the ‘89 draft. Green Bay simply had to lose as road ‘dogs to Arizona to land Troy Aikman. The Packers one, Aikman fell into the Cowboys’ lap.
    Exhibit B:
    After the Walker trade Jimmy and Jerry decided to shop Michael Irvin. Al Davis talked them out of trading “The Playmaker”.
    Exhibit C:
    The Cowboys were on the clock with the 17th pick. Jimmy was smoking the phones to grab James Francis by trading picks with the Bengals who had the 12th pick.
    The Bengals kept the pick, Emmitt Smith fell to Dallas.
    Summary: But for luck, the Raiders could have had #8 and Green Bay would have drafted Aikman and Smith.
    Note: There was no salary cap.

I love you and what you do fish but I've never seen cd in the middle of all his offense leading a huddle on the side lines! Michael was light years ahead of cd! And same with Troy if the players weren't doing thier job he and Michael would be on the sidelines lighting a fire under thier asses! The main reason it doesn't make sense to compare the old cowboys to the current ones is the nfl and the rule changes. You can't play defense today without it being a penalty! Idk how anyone can try to compare defensive players or units from the past to the current players or units! The 92 team had more heart and determination!

      Garbage? Come on man, 3 12 win seasons ain’t garbage. I know you’re gonna have a meltdown about playoff losses and do the whole “what’s it gotten us??” Thing, but being competitive every year ain’t garbage. Washington is garbage, panthers are garbage, bears are garbage.

    There's nothing wrong with this coaching staff????? REALLY??? I don't challenge or disagree with Fish on much but I do on this!!! Say all you like about 12 wins 3 years in a row but if you look closely this team is sub .500 against winning teams. They are clearly unprepared almost every big game. They are sloppy, mistake prone and penalty prone. They are the worst team in the league at making in game adjustments when things aren't going well. This is (or at least was the past couple years) a mediocre football team with a very good roster. No body has done less with more than the Cowboys the past few years. If that doesn't scream poor coaching I don't know what does????
