So interesting to find out more about this dress. It's amazing that Bob Mackie didn't see the dress when it was finished. Wonderful interview. Sharing on my page

@Marilyn Monroe Forever In Our Hearts - I didn't know that it was Bob Mackie who did the original drawings, either. I heard of the dress, of course, by Jean Louis.

I just remember Bob Mackie from all the gorgeous gowns and costumes he did for the Cher ( Sonny & Cher TV show ) during the early 1970's. Mackie's stuff was to die for....gorgeous, every single piece. And no one did them justice like Cher. ( or of course, Marilyn Monroe !)

I may be way off base with the story, so forgive me if I'm wrong come I was working for a museum in Downey California and they were having a hundred years of Downey California show and I was told to go to a home and pick up some furniture and I went to this young blonde man's home to pick up a furniture and he was very sweet to me and we had a few words between each other and I left later on the director of the museum told me the man was a designer of close but also he had done some design for some kind of special show which was really flamboyant, I've often wondered if that might have been Bob who I met because he was a double and looks

That's for sure! That they even let that **** vile person wear such an iconic gown is *CRIMINAL!* Marilyn and only Marilyn made that gown into a legend...and *MANY* years from now, Marilyn will still be loved, while that whole disgusting lot of the Kardashians will *LONG* be forgotten!
