What makes this compared to vanilla PVZ2 feel like a more official sequel is definitely the attention to detail that was present in the first game. Of course umbrella works on buccaneers, imps, prospectors and even combo's with spring bean, it has logic to it. Of course homing thistle can pop balloons, the projectile is sharp. Even plant death and victory animations make sense, it was already in PVZA. Small stuff like this really does go such a long way.
It really does show the amount of effort and determination the people developing this have I love the new animations it's one of my favorite aspects of PVZ2 but that with all this new stuff a sandbox, re--introduction of the cut tracks and even some actually good looking plant designs and not whatever slop popcap is creating it's literally perhaps a revolution that we get this 11 years later after the game released and I am all for it :)
Things I know: Ice Shroom's PF actually freezes zombies when its bitten. The freeze only activates when it's bitten, but the range of the freeze is all around itself in the icy mist. The Floawer Pot's PF gives it much more health and allows it to be moved to any tile you want (when there's nothing on top of it) Gatling Pea's PF has extra firepower in its animation, but unlike pvz2 china, the guns stay out and it's permanently upgraded Snow Pea apparently has repeater's big pea at the end of the PF Gargs from ancient egypt drop backwards walking basics from the sarcophagus Scaredy Shroom has a small chance to fire one of its plant food spores, that knocks back a zombie slightly Barrel Rollers kill plants on contact, rather than just doing rapid damage to them. This means that even armoured tall-nuts die on the first frame of contact Edits beyond here: Torchwood's explosion goes in a cross shape now rather than just a single lane. Zombie heads and arms go FLYING if they're knocked off by strong attacks (one of my favourite details) If you right click plants they will have an animation This game is SUPER impressive
Yeah, and Plant foods like winter melon puts are WAY more impactful thanks to the screen shake, the extra Icey effects, the fact that the body parts go FLYING and just everything about it I love.

This fangame shows that quality is better than quantity the amount of small details, content, and animations in this would make a L4D enthusiast smile with how much attention to detail there is I really am excited for this and this is perhaps the start of a pvz2 revolution and I am all for it no more bad vanilla slop just pure fanmade content.

This project has a lot of time and effort being put into it, and I have nothing but respect and admiration for the people who created this amazing PC port. Not only does this have a lot of potential, but it's also a showcase of how good an actual PVZ2 PC port could be. However, it's not without its faults. 1. The expansion levels kinda suck, to be honest. Removing them would not only help take up less space for the game, but it also would make the worlds more consistent in difficulty. 2. We need more Plants and Zombies from PVZ1 in this PVZ2 PC port. 3. We need night variants of each episode, and that would make the level possibilities even bigger. 4. Last but not least, we could give the Chinese worlds some representation in this game.

this and univerz are the fangames im more hyped to play, Im expecting them to make pool, roof, and nights levels for modern day in both of them, it would be even more interesting if only in modern days you wouldn't be able to use mushrooms at daytime, which you would need coffee bean

I absolutely love that they use that one Scaredy-Shroom redesign I saw online instead of reusing the ugly crackhead design from the main PVZ2.

very good animation, something that I did like about the original version (the old one) was how the peashooter fired like a machine gun
For 1, I like how they took the idea from the death animations… pretty good NGL… and I like to redesigns of some of the plants and the animations…
A lot of the death animations are based on the desth animations in pvzheroes, which is a cool detail.
by the way, gloom-shroom is a shadow plant now just like gloom vine
