This tutorial is inspired by the Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet designed by BIG. Its spiral shape is not just visually impressive and a clever blend of form and function, but also really challenging to build in 3D. In this tutorial, I'm going to show you step-by-step how to create it using only Grasshopper. We'll explore how to use parametric tricks to make something that looks complex but is actually easy to understand. The 3D model will be fully parametrical so you will be able to adjust the number of turns, minimum and maximum radius, scaling along X and Y, rotating the scaling plane, adjusting the middle part's size, and setting the height range for the spiral surfaces.
In the extended version of this tutorial, we are going to continue building up our project and bringing more realism. We are specifically going to focus on trimming glass walls in order to get open space inside. This will be a bit challenging as we need to generate the right trimming shapes that will require certain data tree adjustments. Also we will use multiple conditional statements to choose which split surfaces to keep.

OPEN Edges - i cant fix - please help-

Could you please explain what you mean by ‘open edges’? I’m not quite clear on the issue you’re facing.

When I try to print it I need to check if the geometry has open edges.... once I plug in show naked edges the two swirls have open area in-between.
I would be extremely thankful for any solution.
