He probably is because this is Charlie Winter's first acting role but like other actors over time he will settle into his role and character and get used to it and be more comfortable. Plus he must be really nervous acting and sharing the screen around legendary characters like Phil Mitchell (Steve Mcfadden).
It is so heartbreaking when folks hear the Truth about "Fam". Emma Nelson "remembering" meeting her "Real" Father Shane McKay at a Home for Special Needs Folks. Dan Connor finding out about his Momma Audrey being Bipolar before anyone knew what it was, then Cliff Barnes "briefly" coming to terms as to what happened with his Daddy Digger Barnes and Jock Ewing on Dallas as well as Dr. Nick Toscanni not accepting the fact that Blake Carrington (1980's) wasn't responsible for his Brother Johnny dying in a Third World Prison who was a drug addict who got arrested.
at first it didn't click but as the weeks go on yes he does. Its hard to believe Steve was in Eastenders for the last time in 2001, He was in the show at its best peak the late 90s, he even tried to mess with Grant as well as Phil, Grant swung at him at one point.
He does have similar features, yes. They do take looks into account when casting, Daniella Westbrook was cast as Sam because she had the same broad face as Phil and Grant.
Lee Comber I agree, it was a great soap in the 90s, everyone watched it and everyone at school talked about it - and then we'd watch the whole weeks worth again on a Sunday- good times 😊
Phil didn't have enough time to save Steve, Phil could've went back to save him, had there'd been more time, but there wasn't, the car blew up in seconds, Phil could've lost his life aswell running back to save him.
Just have to love EastEnders. Phil slept with Hunters mum. Steve Owen slept with Phil's sister. Steve's son Hunter had it away with Louise, who's Aunty had it away wit his Dad. Too much overlapping at the least. Then you have Sharon who's married to Phil, but was married to Grant and had it away with him. But what I don't get is, a woman who had it away with her own brother and had a kid, however someone can fall in love with her, marry her, someone who has been around the block so many times and yet the young lad Keanu ends up having hots for and see's nothing wrong with her. She's all kinds of nasty, especially with that make up
It would have been great if it was showing some flashbacks from Steve’s death

I've just been rewatching old episodes from Steve Owen's era. Bit surreal watching these scenes now with his son and Louise all grown up xD

He was a looker in a dark and creepy sort of way, he reminded me more of a vampire from my childhood-perspective xD

mark biggins he has Steve's jawline and cheekbones but the blonde tint of Mel's hair, good choice of actor to play their son.
