More fun. More fashion. More faux pas. As Emily finds her footing in Paris, the fallout from a night of passion could send her stumbling into trouble.

This season was marginally better than the first, which isn't saying much. At least they called Emily out on her more selfish actions, and gave more time for the POC characters to shine.

Pierre Cadault is literally the best part of this show

  • @TheArtisanTarotTBMoon

As an art historian I loved this scene. Because Pierre styled himself after Louie the 14th king of France, aka in art history “The Sun God” (typical Leo ♌️ that he was lol) Louie turned Versailles from a Quaint hunting launch into the monumental palace that we know of it today. Which is why it was fitting to see him dressed in that style for the show. Now his rival, is dressed in the rococo era which is when Maria Antoinette and Louis the 16th were the end of the French monarchy at Versailles palace as well. I wonder what that will hint at in season three and how this will play into the plot and the fashion world in our story. As we have seen in this season Pierre has been having a difficulty reinventing himself to stay in the contemporary mainstream world of fashion. Also he cycles between tortured artist and bratty child I can only wonder what a handful he will be next season.

Dressing like Louis the XIVth was a way for Pierre Cadault to get his high place in the French fashion industry recognized and remind his "oponent" in a mysoginistic way that a queen is nothing without her king. Moreover, the fact that two legendary figures like the Sun King and Marie Antoinette, who lived at Versailles, the place of this fashion show, confront themselves makes this moment of the extract epic.

This scene was incredible. The outfits not really but the music and dancing, I was literally in awe! I would love to know what song that is?! Now I hear it in a commercial but not so blatantly. I think I watched this scene over and over. Loved it! All you haters don't have an artistic bone in your body. It was nice all the models were not rail thin.

Bright pastels, fine and dandy, but why open with Marie Antoinette and Charles the Second? Or was Pierre supposed to be the Sun King? Still, pretty, at least without any context.

I enjoy it, I boycotted NF because of the racism against our country and support of the infamous obsessive N*zi Idolator Ms Markle, but I am learning French and although it is a poor representation of French people and Culture it's light enough to enjoy. The framing of the architecture is sublime and I love the characters especially Luc, whose voice is so alike the voice of one of the characters in Duolingo there's a Reddit discussion page 😁 Overall Delightful sojourn, merci beaucoup, Netflix.

This is the remix of one of the most famous airs of the French opera. It is "L' Amour est un oiseau rebelle" by George Bizet. It does not date back to the XVIIIth Century, but I understand why they took it for this show (apart from the aesthetical reason): it is THE French opera air known by almost everyone. It was written in the last decade of the XIXth Century. The opera is based on one of Prosper Mérimée's tales, "Carmen" (1847), about a Spanish woman (the title is eponymous) whose beauty is fatal to men, so she is one character who contributed to the development of the femme fatale. You can find the remix in the playlist soundtrack of the season 2 on CZcams.
