- I've uploaded a couple of other clips from recordings done for Roy's show out of Eugene, Oregon in August 1979. There are ones like these where she's singing live over pre-recorded tracks and a couple where it's live with an acoustic. It's from the master (or safety) that I transferred years ago. It's unknown how many of these made the final show that aired. I don't have the completed show. But it's a look at what it's really like to do these things, waiting for songs to be ready or the camera crew to be ready, etc. Keep in mind how old she is here.
This one you really get a glimpse of the waiting around process to film these things. Cameras ready? Amy ready? (yes) Music bed ready? You don't normally get to see all this because it's normally edited out. If that bores you you can fast forward a bit.

It's not as clear as later, and it's kinda slapstick, but we know who she is singing about. She's singing about how some folks giggle when they find out what she believes ... "If you think I'm uncool, playing the part of the fool" and "when I'm in class and everyone talks of evolution, no-one talks about you", "such a joy they're missing, saying God is dead", looking up "I love him, yes I do", "I love you".
