Well, that difficulty spike was obscene, but once I got through
it...I must say, I honestly enjoyed the challenge! It did, however, put
this game in my backlog for AGES. :P

The most bloody difficult level I've played yet in a platformer! Ugh... I so wanted to toss my New 3DS XL out the window during a few of these segments.

The final palace. I can sum up my feelings very succinctly.
All. Of. My. Hatred.
I have owned this game for years. I have gotten 100% of all the items; using this playlist as my primary guide, in fact. And yet. I have *never* been able to successfully get through the living nightmare that is this palace. Believe me, as I watch this video, many wildly inappropriate thoughts are surging through my head, jostling for release. But I think my four words above are enough.

Beat the previous game with no problems, got to the final palace level in this game and I can't pass it. Severed a few tendons in my dominant hand a few months back and I just don't have the dexterity for it anymore. A shame. Will perhaps try later on if I can get more mobility back.
This last level ruined the game for me. How is it fun to die hundred times?
dying +999 times is NOT fun. But getting to see yourself overcome overcome and recieve your championship is fun. There's a balance between challenging and overly hard...this was honestly overly hard.

Corilo91 Same. To be honest, I got this game because I thought it was an action platformer like Kirby, not a hardcore platformer. Guess I should've done more research.
It is a challenge. This Stage is a perfect finale for this game in my Opinion. And its actually not THAT hard...
After 20 attempts at crossing the first switch area I thought I'd look it up. I've switched the game off now. This is just too harsh of a difficulty spike!

I feel dumb I can’t beat the game as I can’t get up the tower. Stuck on trying to reach the second platform playing on switch. It feels too high up.
Edit: After watching the video, glad I got stuck. I avoided a bunch of insanity. I had issues with the Airship alone. This is 100X worst.
i'd love a metroidvania title that was consistently at the difficulty of the palace. so satisfying to clear an area after multiple attempts

Only in Rule 34. In actual fact, the Pirate Master’s fingers are dexterous enough to recover his face *without* tearing off Risky’s clothes with it. But he *does* put her in chains later, so…

Yeah, that was probably the cheapest part of the whole level, and that's saying something. I'm just glad I was playing along with this video for that! :P

Hated the castle, hated the final boss, I hated everything about this part of the game but I did it 100%.
Solid game but this end part put me off replaying the game ever again.

Nope. I'm getting old and I just can't deal. haha The game was very fun and balanced (save for just a couple of minor spots) up until this stage. This is awful... Rage game levels of awful. Like a romhack. I am so sad.
I had no trouble with Risky's Revenge, and if I manage to stomach the sluggish combat I can beat the original game just fine. But this? I might have to just give this a pass and move on to Half Genie Hero, and that makes me feel genuinely sad. I can't even get past that first switch room. I really love this game... up until this part.
Reminds me of Megaman 8. I always play until that first Wily stage and then quit.
There's a platform above the platform where u do dis. How do u get up there? I used da cannon and everything
I understand that the footage of the money grinding and spending was taken from another file of yours, but if you went ahead and fully upgraded Shantae in said file, why not use that to record the rest of the footage until the end instead of going back to your previous one, where Shantae is not at her full potential? If you had to continue off on your previous profile for recording purposes, why not do the grinding and spending in that one also aside from time consumption? It is a 100% completion run, and though that really goes for items, I feel like having the upgrades you bought, though not as necessary as the shampoo and other upgrades you bought (haven't seen you use the back dash thus far though), can only help you in the final fight, and most if not all completionists playing the game would go for them anyway (it's the principle of the matter, really).
I made a mistake and accidentally recorded up to the final boss before purchasing the upgrades. Because I didn't want to waste time playing through the Pirate Master's Palace again, I edited in a section showing how to unlock the rest of the upgrades. However, when I played the final boss (my Part 13 - Finale) I did it on a file that has all of the upgrades and was 100% complete when I beat the boss. I'll admit, I failed to show off the kick move and back dash in the game since I didn't find them particularly useful. I used the back dash a ton in Risky's Revenge but you can't chain them together in this game so I kind of neglected or didn't even think to use it in this walkthrough which I do regret since I did unlock it. I understand your concerns and appreciate your opinion, however. Thanks for taking the time to write.

You make this look easy, but it's HORRIBLE!!!
I don't understand why so many people are complaining about the difficulty. I mean it's the finale of the game so it should be hard. Apart from that, it's not as difficult as many here think. Just because you have little skill it doesn't mean that the game is doing something wrong!
Let me rephrase that for you, just because you're quite skilled doesn't mean that the majority of players are just as skilled as you. If most of the people playing the game find it too difficult, then it's too difficult. I appreciate a challenge but when you're spending hours dying and trying again over and over and over again, without any save points in between to take a break, then it's just not fun.

Not that difficult? Are you for real? Dude it's trial and error without save system. the definition of Bad Gameplay. Even deliberately frustrating games like "getting over it" "Pogostuck" or "Dark Souls" had very accurate and reliable save systems, even if ya didn't like it.
I am about ten seconds away from uninstalling this fucking game.

I honestly don't know what everyone's complaining about..I beat it in about 20 mins..now if it made you do each room without dying, THAT would be insane. But harder than dark souls? GTFO
Everyone is on a different skill level. What's easy to you may be hard to someone else.
