Sir but if pt pf ratio is 180 on oxygen by mask we can call it moderate ards Or it has nothing to do with ards Secondly u told dat above 7 litre u cannot calculate pf ratio because of flow not delivered so shd we use niv after dat?
For any patient to label ards , you need minimum peep of 5 , that means patient should be on NIV … read Berlin definition of ards ; secondly above 7-8 liter routine masks can’t deliver high o2 content inspite of increasing the flow meter , that’s their limitation … though rebreathing mask with reservoir increases that to some extent .

Why fio2 setup is not 21% for a ventilating patient as air contains 21% of oxygen. Why we set fio2 more that normal air in anaesthesia machine
