Unbelievable, latest technology battery using dangerous Li-ON technology, in stead of latest and safe technology LiFePO4.

They’re using LFP for gen 3

LiFePO4 is a type of lithem ion battery.

@@user-sx6py3et7c do you see even difference in letters? Li-ion and LiFe. One is dangerous and other is safe. If I would ever consider to buy battery that big I would want to know for sure which technology is used exactly.

In Chemistry an ion is an atom or molecule carrying electrical change.
A Lithium ion (Li-ion) battery is a battery which uses electrically charged Lithium. There are 12+ such battery chemistries under this umbrella including Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4)
The full datasheet for the Powerwall 3 isn't out yet, but all current indications point to the use of the LiFePO4 chemistry.
If you want to be really sure you get LiFePO4, wait for the data sheet release.
Also LiFePO4 is a fairly old chemistry. But it is cheap and has a good cycle life & safety profile at the expense of weight, so it is good for applications like this.
