  • The Honor Magic Vs folding phone has finally gone global, launching at Mobile World Congress 2023 today. The Honor Magic Vs will be the first non-Samsung large foldable to sell outside China, in key markets like Hong Kong, Singapore, UK, and western Europe.

    I LOVE my Vivo X Fold, but my biggest gripes are that it's very heavy and the software isn't too polished. The camera though is amazing!! I'm really hoping they create a lighter foldable next that will be released globally- with that 1 inch sensor lol!
    In the meantime, would you mind comparing the Honor Magic Vs camera to the Vivo X Fold camera? (Which I think is on par with flagship phones. The Zeiss colors really do make a big difference!). Thank you, keep up the great work!

    From what ive been gathering online the price here in Canada will be only a few hundred dollars cheaper than the Z fold 4. I doubt thats enough of a price difference for people to buy a unknown and unproven (to the general consumer) chinese brand foldable. Im into foldables and also an enthusiast and its not enough of a price difference to get me off my Fold as well despite the VS having a proper sized outer scree (my biggest gripe with the fold). UTG is relatively better now. As for scratches, any phone screen can have that. Even GG VICTUS can get scratched badly. Also, it's covered by warranty if the UTG starts having minor cracks. If it's severely cracked up then no one's gonna give you warranty, that's expected.
      Foldable with a wider outer screen and no gap between the hinge however have one advantage. Your most activities would be done on the outer screen as it's more convenient, so you will open the inner display less. Also, dust cannot get in so there won't be any accidental scratches either except for the ones the user does.

      @@bensgadgetreviews So...instead we tell everyone something doesn't exist when it clearly does?
      Whether someone can do it or not is moot. And it's not hard to get to developer options.
      It's irresponsible reporting to say something doesn't exist when it clearly does.
      Again, tell/show people how to do it before saying it doesn't exist.
      Because you're turning potential buyers off to a phone for no reason other than "its hard to do," which is false.

    • @dragonforcegaming7555
      @dragonforcegaming7555 Před rokem

      @@silkysantiago no reviewer does that tbh. Mrmobile also nitpicked Oppo Find N and N2's inability to run any app in split screen or force orientation. It's simply that the online reach is relatively low and most who actually see the reviews don't buy the phone but see it just for fun.
      Also, if you tell any average user to go into "developer settings" and force the apps you are gonna have two reactions from them
      1) What are developer settings?
      2) it's not present in the settings. Would I need to download an app for that?
      Then if you explain to them they would need to tap the "build number" 7 times to activate it, most wouldn't even know where the hell the build number is. Like in MiUI phones, finding the build number is relatively easy, on OneUI and ColorOS it's a bit of a hassle to find the build number. Most wouldn't go through that. Some even fear tweaking with the Developer settings just because the term "developer" is present there. So ultimately the blame would go on the OEM for not providing the option even if it's already present there...

    • @silkysantiago
      @silkysantiago Před rokem

      @@dragonforcegaming7555 Again, saying it's "not available" because it's the path of least resistance is irresponsible. Because it is available.
      The best thing would be to not even address it, but to say it's not available when people are clearly using it in the manner that's "not available" is wrong.
      Because there are some reviewers who actually do dig in and find those things to make the phone perform better, but unfortunately they don't have the "numbers." But guess what, because of that reviewer I'm able to call bs on false reporting.
      So again, leave it alone if you don't know how. But saying it's not available is false reporting.
