As others have said, much of the cast comes from a theatre background and lots of stage musical credits amongst them. The show is thankfully proving to be a brilliant launch pad for getting them more recognition and opportunity to share their vocal chops! The clip of Johnathan Bailey is from The Last Five Years, which is an incredible show and one of my top 5 of all time. JB starred in the West End production a few years ago, and while it's best seen live, there's a film version starring Jeremy Jordan and Anna Kendrick that more than does it justice. JB also won an Olivier award (like the Tony's for the UK) for his performance in the gender-swapped revival of Company and plays Fiyero in the upcoming film version of Wicked. #musicalnerd
Johnny Bailey was singing a song from the musical The Last Five Years. If I’m not mistaken, that was his audition tape. He’s won an Olivier Award for his supporting role in The Company. His singing and acting in that one was even better.
Jonathan Bailey is actually in the upcoming movie version of Wicked the musical with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. I. Can't. Wait. !!! I also found Luke's cover of Rewrite the Stars a few years ago and haven't been able to stop listening since. It's stunning! ❤ I had NO idea about Claudia though! Thanks for making this video.😊
CZcams is feeding me all their official CZcams pages with their covers of popular songs. Luke Newton was in boyband and had formal musical theatre training.
@@RealityReacts ok I also tried to reply earlier with a link to an article about the boyband. There were a few on his Wikipedia page. Those are worth looking at if you want to see pictures of 18 year old Luke. 😆
I mean Luke Newton was in a Disney Channel show called The Lodge in the UK, where he sang and Jonathan Bailey has done musical theatre in the West End, also Jonathan is gonna be in the new Wicked movies, which I am so excited for!
Jonathan Bailey is literally an Olivier award winning actor for Company, a Sondheim musical where he sings what is arguably Sondheim’s most difficult song ever 😭 I cannot wait for his Fiyero in Wicked too !!
Um hmm. They all theatre kids, Chile 😁. So not only can they sing, but they're trained to sing LIVE, no takes, full stop, lol. Anthony/Jonathon is singing there in rehearsal for the musical, "The Last Five Years" -an off-Broadway productions that's gone on to be an international cult favorite (it's about the end of a marriage from each spouse's perspective)
Honestly European actors just seem to be more well rounded. Yup...hate on me if you want. But really....my second fave...Canadians..but that one is biased. 🇨🇦🇨🇦
I only knew about the 3 Bridgerton brothers, especially Anthony, whom I saw and heard in Groove High Colin sang a little at the beginning of episode 8 in season 1
The potential was there with Bridgerton the musical 🥲 but Netflix started a court case instead 💀 Claudia also sings in Their Finest and it's the most gorgeous thing
I binged the entire season three the moment I saw it was out. And then had to go back and rewatch the Queen Charlotte as well as the entire Season 1 through 3 of Bridgerton.
The video of Jonathan bailey singing if i didnt believe in you is famous in the theatre kid world. I saw that video before Bridgerton..its one of the best renditions of the number. Its from the musical The Last Five Years and theres a movies version with Jeremy Jordan and Anna Kendrick!
It's actually pretty well-known that they can sing. When Rege-Jean Page hosted SNL a few years ago, he sang (very well) in almost every skit. Jonathan Bailey been in musicals on both Broadway and the West End, and will be starring as Fiyero in the upcoming "Wicked" movie opposite Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. And of course there's that widely-viewed YT video of Luke Newton (Colin), Luke Thompson (Benedict) and Jonathan Bailey (Anthony) singing "Can't Help Falling In Love" on set while in costume that you included in your post.
There was an actual Bridgerton musical on Broadway, and now I’m really disappointed in the theater’s casting choices, because these people could have done it.
What song is Jonathan Bailey singing? I assume it’s from a musical and I’m kinda curious to see if I can find a version of it somewhere cuz now I wanna know who Cathy is lol
The Last Five Years! There are two official Cast recordings: the 2001 one with the Original Broadway Cast, and the 2013 off-Broadway revival, both great in their own ways. There was also a movie with Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan not too long ago (which I personally didn't like). The musical tells the story of a couple's relationship from each person's POV: Cathy's from the end to the beginning, and Jamie's from beginning to end. It's usually staged with them in individual scenes, with them only "meeting" in the timeline during their wedding scene. I recommend listening to the recordings first before watching the movie -- I personally think it's a theatre piece that doesn't translate quite well onto film, but let me know what you think, haha.
@residentartist thanks! Looks like there are a couple filmed versions of the live musical on CZcams so I’ll see if those are any good haha. For musicals I always prefer the live version (even a poorly filmed one) over the movie adaptation
@@tamaramendelson1634 Good call. Have fun! (There's also an interesting UK production where both characters are onstage the entire time, with just a piano that they each play during each other's scenes. It's on BroadwayHD, if you have an account.)
Most of them are theater actors so actually no surprise
I had no idea ❤️
i agree with you !! but its one thing to know they started in the theater and hearing hoe amazingly polished they are 🥰
Yup
Not gonna lie... Colin Bridgerton blew me AWAY !!! 🔥🔥🔥
Honestly, what I heard in this video sounded heavily auto tuned to me…
I always thought he gave a Jonas Brothers vibe
Luke is fantastic!
Luke Newton and Claudia Jessie have such smooth, angelic voices it's insane😭😭
I demand a musical with the three bridgerton brothers
Luke Newton has the voice of an angel.
I agree ❤
Not surprised!! That random scene in season 1 where Colin is singing and almost stops mid-phrase when Pen walks into the room is one of my favorites.
Which episode was it, pls?
Simone Ashley has a beautiful voice as well. The cast is so talented. She has a duet with Zayn Malik for her movie 10 lives that's really nice.
🥰🥰 I love her! I’m definitely gonna check that out.
Love Luke Newton’s voice sing!! He’s amazing!!
I know right!
the fact that most of them are theatre actors meant that they can definitely sing
Rege-Jean Page's voice is so amazing!
Jonathan Bailey singing If I didn’t believe in you from the last five years is my saving grace! 😭
Also get to see him sing in Wicked I can't wait.
@@cpettigrew3072 omg! I forgot about that! I’m so excited 😁

Wait there will be a wicked film? I loooooove the musical
We NEED one episode of Bridgerton to be a musical, right?
At least one 😂
Like Buffy!!!
😂Oh no. They did that with Grey’s one Episode remember?

Company. Not The Company.
@@randyseay4855 I stand corrected! 🙂
Well Luke Newton was on The Lodge, he sang a lot on that show. I also saw an interview that said when he was 20 he was in a boy band.
There are videos of his band on youtube. They had a song called cougar something
Jonathan Bailey is actually in the upcoming movie version of Wicked the musical with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

😂😂😂 rigghhtt
Honestly they should have done a musical episode while the Duke was still there. They should still do one though.
I would have absolutely loved that ❤
luke, claudia, and johnathan were incredible omg 😭

Bridgerton: The Musical. I’m sure I’m not the first to say it but I’m here for it.
They’re well known theatre actors here in the UK.
I am not surprised with all that talent 💯
Bridgerton put them all on the map because I never heard of any of them before.
Obsessed with Luke's rewrite the stars ❤❤
The fact that Luke Newton doing his rendition of Rewrite The Stars just masks my heart jump
And just like that, I need a Bridgerton Boys Christmas Album 🤩🤩🤩
LUKE NEWTONS VOICE IS REALLLLLY GOOOOOOD LIKE WOOOOOOOOWWWWW ABOVE AVERAGE 🔥🔥🔥
I just finished season three! I can’t wait for part 2!

I saw a clip of that not too long ago and I was so surprised
Luke Newton was also in The Book of Mormon in the west end. Lots of Talent on the entire crew
Does anyone else notice that pop music is usually sung with an American accent? 😂
There’s some CZcams vids that actually deep dive into that subject and why that is, etc. It’s fascinating
Yes😂
Johnathan Bailey (Anthony) is in Wicked, the movie as Fiero.

Agree. European actors are superior- the focus is on the acting per se, a more theatrical base.
HOPING FOR A MUSICAL DRAMA ,ADDING TO BE A SPECIAL EPISODES.. LOOKING FORWARD TO IT, KUDOS TO ALL THE CASTS , STAFFS,CREWS & THE VERSATILE CHARACTERS

What is it with people who don’t understand how to properly use (and not use) an apostrophe?!?
acting is not so easy they have ballet class ,sing class ,manny ather things
Obviously they can as they're musical theatre actors but plz learn to recognise autotune too!
