@@thrallsofmetal It actually makes both halves more listenable in my experience. It's almost like a full mix was split between 2 discs rather than it being 2 competing sources. The audio doesn't fight, it compliments. Apparently Neurosis have done a similar 2 disc at once concept with tribes of neurot, and the flaming lips may have "invented" the idea with their 4CD Zaireeka album.
I didn't find this out until looking it up after watching your review, so thanks guys. Cheers!

Phil ripped alot of there lyrics off in scour. You need a translator to find portals spells. One spell involves an incantation to dig up a dead priest and bury him facing west so his soul is bound by the necromancer and he can never be at rest. Dig into more after a bit.

Great reaction! For me it's a very clear disappointment... it's not nearly as good as the other album...I've been into power electronics/death ambient/noise for more than 20 years and this album is not very original, sure it has the Portal signature, but in the genre I think it's not particularly remarkable or groundbreaking. Their brand of death metal is much more original and interesting. Anyways, anyone into this album should check out; Genocide Organ, Operation Cleansweep, Grey Wolves, Atrax Morgue, Mauthausen Orchestra, early Ramleh, Grunt, Bizarre Uproar...most of this stuff was out in the 90s so Portal is late to the game.

I listened to this after listening to Avow for the umpteenth time since it dropped and loved it. I don’t get the feelings you guys got listening to it I just think it’s a amazing piece and is the acoustic companion to Avow’s plugged in experience. I love all their albums though and have never had a problem getting into them. I could also just be twisted lol. I am from Australia, Sydney not Brisbane.
I get it if you don’t like it though, I’m not a CZcams guy who will tell you to listen to something that you aren’t into 20 times and then you will get it. I don’t like Imperial Triumphant and people say they are amazing. I just can’t get into them.

It's creeps me the fuck out but I think that's what they were shooting for here. There's still a lot of bands I have difficulty getting into out there but I'm willing to at least check them out and give my thoughts while telling people that while it may not be my favorite it may be yours.
