This is true, even I have applied to private colleges with my UGC NET and first class in Masters degree from a prestigious university, I never heard from them. People hire candidates with recommendations and connections from professors and this is such a sad system.
My story is the same as you. But Last year i qualified csir net jrf, icmr jrf, gate bt and xl. Now I am shortlisted for PhD interviews in some iits iisers iisc and other universities. My interviews will be held in May. I am so nervous for my interviews. Wish me good luck guys 😊

I am also 26 & a gold medalist in my subject commerce (B. Com) and also in Masters (M. Com) . I qualified UGC NET during my Masters. (2 times). Right now i am doing PhD. I did my Bcom & M. Com from Sikkim University & I am doing PhD from Sikkim University currently in HR
@@NavdeepSingh-kw8tw sir gold medal is given to the toppers from the Institute. As in my case i did my graduation from Government college so i had to compete with all the students of my batch in and around the state of Sikkim. Fortunately I topped amongst all the govt colleges of Sikkim & became the gold medalist 😊. For masters I had to compete with my fellow students from SU to become the Gold Medalist.
