It's like a mix between an arranged marriage and adoption. Also the way John flexed showed that he wasn't scared of a fight with Hank, but I feel like Hank would give a heck of a fight; win or lose John would not soon forget it. And yeah, Dale has awful friends.

The reason they don't tell him is because Dale is such an amazing man and if he did find out, he would never trust anyone again and probably kill himself out of grief and pain of loss, they would rather lie to him than possible loss him or the kind soul he is

Nancy obviously triffling but... being a nosey tattletale judging people is not my responsibility. They're happy. Dale is a good dad. It would only hurt everyone. Yeaaah I was always mad about Dale not knowing. Yeah he’s a great dad, but having this big secret being kept from the big conspiracy nut isn’t the big funny joke the writers think it is. It just feels cruel, imo and makes his friends look like shit.
