His shooting has been criminally overlooked. Smooth shot, catch and shoot, off the dribble and from well beyond the three point line.
He's great at keeping a low stance on the move so he's ready to pull up at a moment's notice. A great time to be a grizz fan!
Should've been MIP, the scoring jump was crazy. It's only his second season too so if he can develop as a playmaker he could be really great in this league

I think the grizzlies are going take first seat In The west day his season. I think Ja morant is hungry and extremely motivated. Plus the grizzlies and great chemistry and besides GSW they are the only other team who truly look like they are having fun while playing and that type of energy goes a long way.

obviously theres a gap between 15-18 Klay and current Bane, but what are some things Klay is clear of that Bane doesnt do just yet?
I would separate their differences offensively into 4 major categories:
1. The willingness and ability to take and make tougher shots - Klay had a quicker release, and was more comfortable shooting with more movement and tight contests whereas Bane occasionally passes up "decent looks"
2. The actual skill of their off-ball movement - Klay is on a short list of the best movers ever, the sharpness and processing of his cuts and screens are at times only matched by the likes of Steph Curry and Reggie Miller.
3. The shotmaking - Both phenomenal outside shooters, but Klay just clearly has an edge there as he's one of the best ever.
4.The passing - Both have their flaws, but I think Klay pretty clearly had more versatile deliveries with quicker/sharper decision making and more high-value finds.
Along with the edge Klay has defensively, these are 4 areas that I think Bane can improve upon to get to, or near that level.
@@HoopVenue do these minor categories make Klay THAT much better. peak Klay is looked at as a low all-nba while Bane is a sub-allstar. Bane is t35 for me and has a t20 ceiling.
@@randle6666 When they are all combined, in my opinion yes they do. Klay being all-time great in some of these categories just moves that needle, Bane is just entering his 3rd year though!

Des has always been compared to Ja's Klay Thompson because of his shooting and increasing defensive prowess.
But honestly: his numbers are starting to look more like Steph!
So: Can you imagine a shooter 50% as good as Steph alongside Ja?! That's a championship roster right there!

What will Ziaire be..... I'm thinking the 3 but with this new NBA if he plays 4 when Jaren goes to the 5. I guess we'll sign Brooks back at the 3. Of course Ja & Bane the backcourt. However if Ziaire the future 3 then I see Brooks being moved. Don't see Brooks signing & being a 6th man. All this because Bane has been on it. Don't think the Grizz though he would be this good... At least not this fast ( 4 yrs of college or not). Him & Brooks shot selection make Brooks tradable. I like Brooks tho ( just the shot selection)
Offensively, being the sixth man would actually be the best role for Brooks in this team considering most great 6th man players don't really have the best shot selection, but his defense is just too good to come off the bench especially when you could be putting him against the opposing team's best player from the get go.

After watching years of Curry, Banes shot look weird, he jumps first then shoots, not both at the same time. Two motions instead of one motion.
