This is a great series. I've been using LPX for years (Hobbyist), but I've picked up so many new things (and some I'd forgotten about) Thanks Chris. Really appreciate all you're doing on your channel.

Thks, very well explained. I question. For me the best recording option would be using cycle mode and auto punch at the same time with the cycle mode being a little broader to give a few bars before and after. However, for whatever reason I am experiencing issues with this. Cycle mode not staying on, is that a known issue ?

Hi Chris, thanks for doing this series, I'm hoping that it will help a friend of mine to start using Logic. My playback is setup to start from the same place each time I hit spacebar, unless cycle or region-selected is enabled. Is there a way to get the same behavior from Record (R)? Currently it starts wherever I stopped it. I think auto-punch is one way, but I prefer it to just start the same each time without fiddling with that.

Might have to watch that again.. but what is the logic *buh dum tss* behind making "content erase" the one that only erases within a region, and "region erase" the one that erases across all regions?

oh yeah I get it now.. I think the part that was confusing is when you said that content erase only erases things "inside the region".. the names make sense if you think of region punch/erase as punching in a new region, or erasing part of a region.. and content punch/erase as punching in new content, or erasing content.

that thing where you had to click on the record enable button (at about 7:17) to get a smooth punch with no dropout is exactly the kind of thing that logic needs to work on. Like why even let me go into record at all without hitting the track record button or conversely if i can do a regular record (non punch) without record enabling then make it work with quick punch. Why is there this weird quirk where to auto punch you have to have the record enable button on. Logic has these types quirks all over the place that i dont expereicne with pro tools or ableton. Frustrating af ive never had to go to forums to get answers this much with other daws ive used
