  • The illegitimate son of Albert Wesker is perhaps the most mobile of the Resident Evil 6 lineup. Able to use his unique hand to hand abilities, he can get in and out of fights much faster than anyone else in the game. This guide will hopefully allow you to better understand what he's capable of.

    A great game in my opinion and as a huge martial arts enthusiast I really enjoyed RE6 for its CQC variety. Mostly with Chris' Kali knife fighting skills and Jake's barehanded combat.

    • @vXArchonXv
      @vXArchonXv  Před 6 lety +6

      Indeed it was! It's kind of cool that Chris gets a unique quickshot, counter, and rear takedown when he equips the knife. The counter is especially useful since it has total I-Frames.

      Sad that this game was boycotted just for the lack of horror, I actually enjoyed all RE games maybe with the exception of ORC. RE is about B.O.W's and with that theme Capcom can pretty much create both action and horror games, that's what keeps the RE series fresh to me.
      In reality, RE's real name is Biohazard, indicating that biohazardous incidents are what makes this series. RE6 was a pretty solid action game with such great controls, I'm still trying to figure out where the game is "so bad" like these people say lol
      The overall story could've been better (mostly the villain's motivations), it definitely paled in comparison to RE5's, which had one of the best stories in the whole series and it wasn't as polished as RE5 was but it still was a damn solid experience.
      Ohh and in regards to the combat, people say that the game has bad controls. How? I literally had zero problems when it came to adapting to RE6, I do what I want most of the time because the controls are so smooth and responsive.
      Chris' Kali knife fighting skills are great here, we can do so many different strikes with it and he has the best stealth attack out of all the characters (neckbreaker and throat slit), quick, silent and effective.
      The combat variety in RE6 is insane, we can even perform a special neck breaker from a cover position while the enemie is stunned or completely unaware of your presence.

    • @vXArchonXv
      @vXArchonXv  Před 6 lety +5

      It ranks my favorite of the modern REs, just above 7, and one of my favorite Capcom games next to Dragon's Dogma and DMC3. ORC wasn't really a very intriguing concept, and turned out to actually be a mediocre shooter. Umbrella Corps had a lot of potential, but they dropped the ball completely with it. I did appreciate the scope of the story in 6, and it perfectly nailed the epic action presentation that 5 failed on, but it really sucked that Wesker wasn't alive to be in it. Would have been a great sendoff for the series to kill him off in it. 5 was definitely more polished than 6, but I'll take amazing gameplay (I mean, just look at this craziness www.twitch.tv/videos/221846109 ) with a slight lack of polish over a game that is essentially more of the same (co-op RE4).
      It wasn't just slammed for not being horror, there are some legit critiques to be made about the game's design (it's still worth at least an 8 out of 10, but it does have some horrible areas like the first half of Jake's 2 and Leon's climbing segment. Camera pulls in the middle of combat suck, and a few parts have the QTEs overdone) but the biggest problem is people projecting what they think the game should be onto each campaign. You can go to just about any professional or non-professional review (I've gone through dozens of them myself. DXFan's review was particularly painful to watch, especially him failing to dodge the arrows in Leon's chapter 2, and then going on to blame the game's controls) and see that the people clearly had no idea how to play the game, or were just very incompetent players overall.
      A common trend is that the opinion of the game greatly improves once people figure it out. The story itself had a lot of wasted potential and plot holes, but still had many enjoyable moments and interactions between the characters themselves. The presentation alone was masterful and really gave a sense of the world going to shit in the wake of global bio-terror. It's probably the one thing I'd change about the game if I could choose. A raid mode would have also been nice, since the campaign gets a bit dull (with the exception of the Agent Hunt areas) after you've mastered the combat and played through it several times. Thankfully we have the mercenaries, although the scoring system for it is awful when it comes to what it requires the player to do to achieve high scores (just about counters only and spawn camping).

    • @MatiasHPR
      @MatiasHPR Před 6 lety +5

      RE7 had its moments to me but the worst part definitely was what they did to Chris. RE5 is my favorite modern RE game and one of my top 3 games in the series, being able to fight Wesker was unique, the whole Kijuju was beautifully designed and the story was masterful since it tied up everything together in the most coherent way possible. But all in all, RE5 still is considered by many one of the greatest games of last gen and had amazing reviews overall.
      Seeing how boycotted RE6 was is what makes me sad. There's no way that RE6 is a bad game like people say, everything felt so responsive and solid, I had fun with every single chapter in the game but sure, it had some low points here and there but RE6 still is the greatest example of what a boycotted game looks like.
      Chris' story had a dark and gritty tone into it when compared to the overall story of the game and it definitely was the best part of the game story wise.
      I agree with you on the last part, I got tired of doing the same old and boring stuff on mercenaries to achieve high scores, just doing counters all the time is boring. I'd much rather do combat variety over the same stuff.

    Best characters from top-to-bottom in Campaign mode in my opinion are:
    Top tier: Jake. Nine-Oh-Nine is one of the stronger Pistols with great firing rates. Hand-To-Hand LT+RT or LT into RT (hold) is insanely good with its huge hitboxes, ridiculous evasiveness (and huge stun), usable targeting system at the start, big damage, key knockdowns, huge invulnerability when throwing downed enemies and amazing stamina management. Elephant Killer is the strongest Magnum available. The Shotgun is always good with the weapon switch cancel (so good I won't mention it again because all Shotguns fill this purpose lol). Sniper is alright (semi-auto snips are always better). Gets the best Assault Rifle (along with Ada and Sherry). Jake gets the best Magnum, AR (with Gernade function), mobility, stamina management and still retains the capacity to save ammo while pumping out big damage without weapons (which is something all other characters lack because the game focuses on weapons the most).
    Leon and Helena. Leon has Wing Shooter, which is the best Pistol in the game despite the average power. Dual wield capability is too strong against most foes and enables quick stuns, ammo conservation and crowd-control. Has the most versatile running melee attack thanks to versatile weapon choices. Semi-auto Sniper is too strong. Fastest fire rate on Magnum gives it the niche it needs to wreck most enemies. Survival Knife is a nice touch and it gives Leon the second best ammo conservation in tandem with Wing Shooter. Takedowns gives some of the most I frames and has the best 3-hit melee combo with good range and lowest cooldown on spinkick. DDT allows much more movement after use despite being so powerful. Helena's Pidacor is the strongest Pistol and leads to good stuns. Running melee attack has anti-grab properties and massive range allowing her to control crowds surprisingly well. Second best coop de grace with huge hitbox, massive damage, pushback AND a knockdown. Above-average back takedown with huge hitbox and great melee spinkick with low lag, high damage and spamability. Exclusive Shotgun has some of the highest fire rate in the game despite and despite being weak it knocks down and is very useful for tacking on quick damage during boss fights. Both toolsets are made even better since they fight C-Virus Zombies exclusively.
    Chris, Ada, and Piers. Chris has the best Knife in Combat Knife and the LT+RT strikes almost always stun. Neck breaker is THE best back takedown which instantly kills enemies. Nine-Oh-Nine is great. Sniper is good. Gernade Launcher's 3 different rounds with decent fire rate and huge splash damage is amazing with Shotgun and overall toolset. His coop de grace is the best because he picks up foes and throws them into others, giving him insane damage, I Frames and range. Piers has the best Machine Pistol. Pier's Anti-Material Rifle is THE reason why he's top tier. It functions like a long-range Magnum and can hold many bullets without taking up too much space. It even outclasses his other Sniper. Neck Breaker is too strong. Spinkick is similar to the females'. Ada has the most great weapons with the AR with a Gernade function and an ok Sniper. Crossbow is powerful with normal arrows being able to pin down enemies and the Pipebomb arrows give much needed crowd control and splash damage. Best reload in the game with Crossbow. Great takedowns with good range (especially the back ones).
    Great-But-Nothing-Broken Tier:
    Sherry and Agent. Stun Rod is massively powerful and a fully charged second strike can kill most common enemies in one hit. Stun Rod stuns enemies quick on first hit and allows for more follow-ups. Burst shot Alt fire on Pistol gives her the second best Pistol. Good, but outclassed coop de grace. 3rd melee spinkick is good. Anti-grab properties on running melee is good and it knocks down. Above-average takedowns. Agent has no issue with inventory or ammo shortages and has the best overall reload times with both weapons. Strongest Pistol with Pidacor. Ok versatility with Knife Pidacor, and Sniper. Average takedowns and coop de grace. Neck Breaker is always good.
    Character Flaws:
    Inventory issues: Ada, Piers, Helena, Leon.
    Crowd Control issues: Agent, Piers.
    High Stamina Management: Leon, Sherry, Chris, may be Piers and Jake.
    Harder Time Conserving Ammo: Ada, Piers, Sherry, Helena.
    One dimensional: Agent, Helena, Piers.

    When I first played this game, I kinda hated it. Years later though, I was searching through videos, kinda frustrated how similar and unremarkable most TPS (and shooters in general) at the time were, I stumbled upon your video, and I decided to give it another shot, and not only did it up my game but my enjoyment of it considerably. I still have some issues with it, mainly in the campaign, but I got thank you as I probably would not have discovered how satisfying RE6 can be without your video.

    • @vXArchonXv
      @vXArchonXv  Před 6 lety +8

      This is the exact reason I have some hope for the game's image to be more fondly looked upon. The start of this was the Neogaf thread detailing the basics of the game. Its creator, much like you, absolutely hated the game at first until he started understanding how it was meant to be played. This is something I've noticed with many, many people (Lambhoot is one notable person that covered the topic in detail here czcams.com/video/UEo8pucuFPc/video.html )
      It's a very love-it or hate-it game from what I've seen. The controls and presentation either sync with you, or you end up fighting against it and not enjoying it. I guess I was one of the people that fell into the former group when I first played it. It felt a little awkward at first until I got dodging and sliding down, but the movements just felt so smooth. Like I was actually the one in the game dodging. I really haven't experienced anything else like it in a modern TPS.

      The first one is really what I know and love.
      I was just going to share a little feature that the game never mentions, and probably 95% of people don't know. A big mistake on Rockstar's part there, they don't tell you anywhere in-game. I've seen people upset with how duels have to go and it's a fair criticism. Certainly annoyed me too. It's not even on the wiki, by the way.
      One of my absolute favourite games and is for many people, the trick elevates a great part of the game.
      Anyway, with dueling you are able to k1ll in one clean shot, or however many shots you like. You don't have to go with the whole machine gun fire thing.
      Make sure the duel meter is higher than opponent's for the success, and you can cancel the volly early at any time with the jump key, so square or X.
